Hi Gary. Looks like the approach could be a mile one way? Looking for very short approaches; it's kinda hard to walk a month before a hip replacement. tx
Hi Kevin, nice to see you posting. Alisa is having a good "pretirement" year.
Pretty impressive skinning those vertical snow cliffs with your body horizontal like that. Proof that skiers...
Go Moxie Go
A dog who always lets one of you get first tracks!
Nice pix
No thanks to the cable car
Skyline
U kin du it
Webcams show enough snow at Paradise to skin from the stairs. I am hoping for a shot at Chinook Pass this fall. The way things are coming down there could be some early closur...
Hi Andy and Mike. I just watched this vid a month later, after posting a TR. So funny/ironic that you cramponed to the tourist road. We walked part of that same area 20 years ago and...
It ain't the Old Chute, but it's all mine 😁
😁
Nice job there Mr. Rusty Knees & Co. As the snow gets firmer, shorter, and steeper, the falls get ouch-ier.
I'm getting concerned about August turns but will look at Bagley or OP.&nbs...
Ingenious
Ever done the chutes at Bagley Lakes with a car shuttle? Not as cool temps, but even lazier sidecountry.
Nice! I hiked it in 2016 and it's on my list too.
Did you rent a 4WD vehicle? Is there a way to check road conditions?
Ha! wasn't much to see most of the way, except fog, snow-laden branches and, increasingly, our ski tips.
Any snowfall onto an existing base on Green should make Gold Creek and the other trails...
Rippin' in Kitsap!
Thanks for the pleasing potpourri of powder pix.
In 2019, late October had better snow than November or December. On Oct 28 we skinned from Stevens Lot C with over 2 feet of fresh! (no base)
Thanks for the TR Randy. Maybe I'll use your route tomorrow...via skins or from above....
Thanks for the TR. Surface looks good up there. I confess that after 3 months of trips to PanPebble I am eager to skin from a little closer, like from a parking area 😊
Nice one, AL. The thumbtack is what I have heard it called. It's more substantial than the "median strips" some of us have been threading.
Did you slide with the other skiers?
That was wider than my August strip below Pan Point, but more skritchy.
Good thing you wore gloves; hate to scratch the knuckles!
There you go Andy - and Mike? I wish you could visit WA for summer skiing, but obviously not this year....
You won't regret it!Hurricane Ridge, that is. You might regret working at some point....
"You're Going Anyway---Bring Your Skis" Almost nothing is better than nothing! Sounds like there was nothing to work with at Bachelor?
I hope your day was as good quality as ours!We had an interesting visit to the ski patrol. We tried to check in, esp. since we expected lots of grooming. A patroller let us in, then kinda told us to c...
Beautiful.Streakers are made, not born!
Ever'body gettin' it this October! You drove to the pass from the east, right? Where is the snow level in the Tieton? I'm looking for dry rock in the next week.
Thanks for the TRs and welcome to TAY!Nice hippy photo...could use some skins with a tie-dye pattern....
Good TR and thanks for all the photos. Always good to see a pinhead gettin' down 8)
Yeah, let's talk....
Good TR. I was at Hood today and there is skinnable snow after 1200' hiking. September 2 is the last day for lifts there until winter.
Hi Andy and Mike, that was me on the 31st! Great to have some Patch Partners 8)Telemon (Bob Wiebe) was a Canadian TAYer who tragically perished on Mt. Hood....
