After seeing substantial snow still left going over the pass to rock climb in the Tieton, I decided today was the day for June turns. With a leisurely start I skinned to the shoulder of Naches, back down to the pond on slightly sticky snow, then skinned and booted the biggest remaining chute. Slushy goodness on the steeper descent.  I saw one other solo skier, and 2 or 3 teams of two.
Some small patches could last into August even with the upcoming heat.
141 months o' TAY fer me.
Thanks for the report. I might follow your lead!

Had the pond melted?

Mike:  not the same as skiing in your backyard, eh?  ::)
S+C:  The little pond on the Naches Peak side is mostly open.  The bigger one on the other side is partially covered.

Forgot to note:  Still skinning from the car on Naches side.  The nice face above the eastern parking lot with the closed bathrooms has patches but is mostly played.
