Mike, thanks for the report. Of course this is old news to most of us, but so shocking to see a reliable old friend gone. A few years ago we skied on the Lyman side and Mike told me the first time he...
filbo, thanks for the report, particularly liked the quote from Spike, I hope to have that grit. As I slogged up the hill yesterday , white rain falling on my head, every step taking me up another foo...
Nice going, it makes me green with envy the great lines you have been skiing. Super nice you take the trouble to post such great trip reports. If Mr Scott is motivated to come out of hiding, you...
Thanks for the report, I’m envious of your sun softened turns, but not so, your four miles of flat slogging. Your camp looks perfect.
Thanks for the report, January, 42 ish years ago, three of cross country wallowed up the trail to the turn off, then wallowed our way into the basin, and spent the night. It was a darn cold nigh...
Thanks for the report, and the great pictures. Looked like the perfect trip, I want pictures of kneed deep powder figure 8’s.
Mike has been witness to multiple outside shoulder/ head punch falls by me in this last desperate crust cycle. He has taken to saying “don’t get cocky” I don’t think it’s had the desired affect! ...
Under most circumstances 2 grand would be a steep price to pay for six good turns, but this was a good day out. Great views, interesting wildlife signs, future turn prospecting, archeological interest...
Great trip, huge day, wonderful pictures, the hart of winter makes a trip like that all the more challenging. Thanks for the trip report.
Still a little thin, and cold!
It’s also a big help to have a pair of 130 under foot skis to float on (like Mikes Legit 130’s).
Way to go you guys! Classic case of you don’t know if you don’t go. Great pic of wizard island and Amy.
Thanks for the great trip Mike, quiet dream state skiing in knee deep powder in November. What a lucky treat. Sorry for no pictures, another example of faltering tec skills.
Congrats you two! Way to steal the apple, and what great condition to finish on. I’m green with envy.
Mack, you rascal, slipped in and grabbed the low hanging fruit! I’m in the same boat I was in last month. I’m hoping this string of storms delivers some snow grass skiing closer to home, but Paradise...
Thanks for the wonderful report, I’m afraid if I had to work that hard to TAY i might bail. But as I’m sure you already know it’s the path not the destination that makes life so rich.
Ha, Mack, Mike and I did that last year….in the rain! We only made two laps! Way to go. We stole the apple yesterday on Rainier 3 inches of fresh on a firm smooth base! I’ll try and get up a post.
Great TR more of those good pictures as well. Me, I want to ski the whole thing in boot top powder, or perfect corn. Thanks!
None of our turns looked like this! Those pictures Mike took of me are strictly poser shots!
That’s a great day of skiing.
Thanks for the report.
Chargers!
Nice! Reaping the benefits of pre snow planning, I’m forever looking around home and saying “ that would sure ski great if we would get enough snow on it”.
Thanks for the report! So great to be able to get “turns” in the back yard, always makes a smile.
Yes! Pictures!
Thanks for the report, lemons into lemonade, perfect!
Nice going! Nothing better than setting the unique bar high. I’m not a big Hawaii fan, but I would love to ski the tallest mountain over its base in the world.
You guys are track laying machines! Nice pic too!
Thanks for the post, that looks like a great ski, and it looks like you really has great conditions. You pictures are sure nice, what do you use for a camera. I know, it’s all about the composition! T...
Kam, I think you make a good point, I was totally shaken by Mikes ride. We went back today to have another look,I guess what I would say as an after action review, is make sure you fully understand th...
