Pea patch couloir

Last night, the gang and I got drunk on fireball and blue curacao and prayed to the gods for epic lines and sweet tasty pow.... and, boy, did they deliver. Waking up to a 10:17 am alpine start we looked out the window to see 10 inches of freshy. Got the squad ready with a fresh shot of leftover fireball and started off putting down fresh tracks out of Beacon Hill. We skinned up to the building that looks like Arkham Asylum for some mellow tree lines given the considerable avy danger. But after bushwacking through some blackberry brambles our desire for steep lines was high. We made our way to the East Ridge of Mount Baker Beach to check out steep glades in Colman Park we've heard whispers of. It looked rad when we got there. But after rescuing a pocket schnauzer trapped in a wind slab avalanche we dropped a cornice onto the I90 corridor for a quick stability test. Seemed stable and we decided we were comfortable proceeding. We bombed the Colman drainage making quick work of the small woden steps/jumps through grandma's pea patch. Our speed and agility scared the bejeezus out of some morning dog walkers. We then went to do some open faces on Irving and Day. There were many baby sharks and we were wearing our 2021 DPS big bucks spendalots so searched out a deeper base. We made our way to the west face and dropped in on some grom sledders (screw you junior!) to make some turns on the steep slopes. We ended by shooting though some side trails. Totally pitted... but watch out for the persistent concrete layer

Did you dig a pit to check stability?? 😀

Definitely! Thats where we left the montucky cold snacks.

Perfect trip report if you replace the Drinks with “Snowshoes” Yukon Jack with a float of Schnapps...🤪
