Aaaand another test to make sure notifications do go out to the folks who subscribed.
Aaaaand yes, I'm going to comment on my own TR - so what, bro?!!?!
Here's something you don't see often.
It was fantastic brown turns indeed! All kinds of browns: literally.😁
Yo, send me a notification when someone posts a reply, will ya? Oh yeah, it's all automated now ... just need to click the bell-lookin' thingy at the top of this TR - got it, sarge!!

I visit this patch of grass above Lake Clara that I keep secret and don't talk about. I dream of early season storms that would let me ski on 3 inches of snow on this little meadow paradise. I have cleared lanes on this grassy hill so that no rocks or sticks will impede early freak storm skiing. I knew weather was coming, so last night I walked up to this patch of grass and fine graded...
But that snow looks pretty sad. Love how you tossed your skis! You should drive to Wenatchee and ski pow for October. Probably will still be good on Tuesday.
I measured 21 inches at the top of chair 3. Tomorrow will be even better!

I did not bother to check it out as I wanted to make sure I followed the set of ski tracks and avoid any potential issues.
Read: "I did not check it out because I was going 60 freaking miles per hour" ;D
I can't believe you ski that fast without armoring up. I don't ski as fast as you, but if I was going to, I'd be wearing thick sleeves, gloves and pants at least!

Crevasse's around 9k, was that skiers right or left (or both)? Looks like your line on the right was pretty nice.
Thanks for the nice TR, I'm headed up Monday. I'm hoping to use more skins and less shoes than August.
The crevasses on the main path going up were starting to get filled in, but felt more safe getting on my skis to cross...

Chances are there will be some snow on them by October, too!

Just back - freshies in the Alps
After just two years of TAY I decided I could be taking a nice hike without the extra burden of skis and boots while chasing crappy snow in late summer early autumn. I know. Very non-creative.
If you live S of Bham, drive to Rainier for October unless it snows enough to go Hwy 20. Tiny already.
Looks like you, guys, got some good snow on Catherine. I'm typically not that lucky at that destination, and end up with some survival skiing in the steep and dense trees about mid-way of the descent.
Great pix!
Can't upload media file from my device. Tried to put a link but seems like it doesn't work either.
Did this late last October based on a TAY member recommendation. Yes, you are absolutely correct, so very very much less driving and slogging than all variations of Paradise, if all you are looking to do is check off the month.
We all remember that one year on Rainier that made us question our life choices. Think it'll hold through Oct? Gotta love the 3 sided shade protection up...
Pavle,
Trying to send a personal message to you. Is there a way yet?
One mobile comment just for good measure

Great TR, bro - looks like an awesome day.
Love the thick blanket of clouds - I bet folks in the lowlands were not as happy as you at Camp Muir 😎
Thanks for the tour of the mountain, I forgot how it looked in the deep summer in a terrible year.
OK, I was able to log in. But only when I tried to reply to your message. The mushrooms are made of agar, I don't really like them...
