Mike - I am very impressed so far with the number of big dumps we seem to get around North Central Washington! I just nailed a beautiful powder morning at Blewett Pass as well...

I hope your day was as good quality as ours!
We had an interesting visit to the ski patrol. We tried to check in, esp. since we expected lots of grooming. A patroller let us in, then kinda told us to check the website, because when they have to answer people's questions they can't do other work. The patroller told us the new uphill policy now requires an uphill travel card to be carried by everyone, and to look at the website to find out how to obtain one.
Hmmm....

Hey Tele and Rusty - I got up to Campbell Basin today too. There was enough coverage both up and down so no rocks though caution was required to avoid low brush carnage being chewed up by cats that were active all over. Cold and overcast but not much wind. I met split boarders Tyler and  Porter who kept ascending after lunch at CB and I returned to the parking lot where more than one Thanksgiving visitor took advantage of the slick and mostly empty parking lot for some tire spinning donut a...
Thanks for the update! Hope to hit it the basin on saturday and get some laps in on quicksilver
The timelessly memorable:
"Everything is a thousand times better on skis."
Thank you a thousand times for that.

..one could make a small wood block rig?

Yeah, good idea, I might give that a try. I've started putting the skates on before the boots. But that only works if you approach not in your boots :)
Mike ,
Thanks for the update on skate touring gear. Ive also seen that site by Luc.
Looks like a blast !
Perhaps to make it easier to enter bindings one could make a small wood block rig?
Thanks again

Hey , please put up some pics of that skate rig! or pm works.
Last year I found a site which had some detail of such rigs.
East side of the Cascades would be a great area for that gear.

no connections to above site ,just interested.

Awesome pics! Must be awesome to have the place to yourself. Congrats on your first TAY Yoyo!!!!
Beautiful.
Streakers are made, not born!
Nice photos!  What camera are you using?  Looks high res
So nice. Great photos. Looks really great.
It would be interesting to have someone read every trip report ever posted of Muir and create a pie chart showing those who said "it was good from 9200 to 7200" and those who said "it was good top to bottom." My guess is the 80/20 rule would apply.  ;D
I'd like to watch a video of the faces on a group of climbers as you zoom past :)

thanks for the video. Always fun to watch!
Saw you speeding down on Saturday. Beautiful day up there and I was able to wear shorts/T shirt on the ascent. Quality corn on the field. We skied below pan point with several transitions
Thanks for posting...aways nice to see.😉
Congrats on 264 + 1!

Nice! I planned to do some tours this July in Chile but the logistics didn't work out so I just hit Portillo. Beautiful, but not much snow at that time.

I think Portillo never really had any snow this year. In any year, July is pretty darn early. August-September are probably more reliable, as much as anything in the Central Andes is reliable.

Thanks for the conditions update! Looked like a gorgeous day ☀
Hey Don good to hear from you and it sounds like you have healed up from that basement fall last year.
I can still remember us riding on those ski doos at midnight up to the cabin drop off in BC and waiting for the snow cat to come up with everyone else and the ski guide Alicia telling us that great story about the great dog who saved the little boys life when he was lost in the forest over night while we passed the time in the freezing winter starlight.
I am officially retired this ye...
Always beauty to get into that zone regardless of skiing conditions.
Nice one, Charlie, I likey.
That vitamin P will be here soon enough.

Makin' lemonade like crazy, Mike! Very inspiring, as usual : )

Phil! It would be great to connect with you this winter...I'll start working on getting down there.

Mike, I was just kidding; you and I are on the same page.  It was an awesome day to be outside.

Cool skate attachments, never knew they existed

I do love skiing right to the car, but I don't weight the ski to hike ratio much in trip value. Those photos are worth a 20 mile walk, even if you only got to ski 200 feet!

I got the idea from Luc Mehl who is an ambassador for the Winter Wildlands Alliance. He does crazy trips on skates (like 150 mile ice skate approaches to ski tour!).

Mack to Mack Roctobers.  145 congratulations!
Stevens skied well and Wells skied Stevens.
Mosetick was a kick, and I was less oxidized than I used to be.
Was great to get out skiing with everyone. While my streak is sadly long gone, October turns are still a great wonder.

See, I can go to someplace that's not off Mount Baker Highway!
Driving in from the east the snow level on Sunday was a little above 4200' and shallow at that stage with maybe 3" or near there.  I would imagine the rain will affect the lower elevation in a strong way.
Thanks for the update. I had plans all day but I saw a number of folks pulling skins at the top of GV on the webcams. Looks like Sunday was the day to do it!
As you blasted past us (yellow and purple gear) just above the pupfest, I thought y'all looked like someone I'd seen internet pictures of. Totally the pups that let it happen :D Nice to briefly meet you.

Lovely day in the mountains.
Way to get it Kam! Looks dreamy.
