That tele skier in your Russel shot is me! Would love any photos of our group.

Beautiful day out there!

Matt
Kaboom! Ten well documented years. Awesome Amar, and thank you for the quality you bring to this site.

One of the most amazing stories, was your night of survival on the crest of Rainier. You huddled next to a steam vent in a snow cave, if I recall. And the innocuous beginning to the ordeal of losing sight of your partner... and probably passing unseen in fog looking for one another. Simple stuff with big consequences.

Keep the reports and photos coming. Ten more years.

More then 5 days later, we sure have got even Rainier on Amar's grumpy parade (attempt).

HUDGE THANKS!

I think it should be "hewdge"...

Kevino says I was auditioning for TGR???  Not so......producing my own films with Gett Some Gettman!

That picture makes the turns look better than they were......
You guys nailed it!

West side of the Coleman Glacier above the Hogsback.
Great report and information--THANKS!

Great video.  Gets me motivated for the upcoming season.  It's enjoyable to see the enhancements in your videos.
Thanks for the great TR and photos.  It keeps me motivated to continue my physical therapy sessions.  ;)
I'm quitting my job!

Thanks for the post!

Zheesh I though it was Rocktober, but I guess it's Pow season.

"Powtober" doesn't have the same ring to it, but I'll take it.

Awesome shots- October looks amazing. I haven't been out to Baker much, where did you guys ski? I imagine this has to be above Table / Herman area... Coleman Pinnacle? further up?? Thanks!
four of us headed up there thinking we would ski off the summit... discovered perfect snow down low, scrapped the summit and lapped everything from 5:30 am to 3:00ish. october is my new favorite month.

Nice commitment to the sport Amar.  I saw you guys dropping below Anvil Rock on my ascent on the 13th and even thought I heard you yelling to someone in your group.  Did those turns just above Muir on the Cowlitz cleaver belong to someone in your group?

That was us. Our buddy Chris was audtioning for the new TGR movie...

Thanks for the info. Heading there tomorrow AM for some great turns hopefully.
congratulations on your first - and prost to your next ten solar orbits of year round skiing!
Awesome!  Thanks for the beta.  Could not be better weather forecasted for tomorrow!
No crampons or avy gear needed. just strong legs for lots of laps. -filthy stinking hippy
Congrats on 10 years!  Looks like decent conditions too for early October!
Work gets in the way of everything.Wait to hit it.

Nice vid Jeff!
Great Photographs!    Thanks for sharing!
I noticed the cloud also. I believe that is a Lisa Simpsonimbus.

Nice to meet you again, Amar. Congrats for the numbers and thanks for all the TRs.
Also, did you use or think it was needed to have avalanche gear?  Maybe a foot of new over the old?

Thanks,
I think I was yelling back up to the others that it was really good on that slope!

Not sure who made the turns on the Cowlitz, but they were already made when we reached Muir.

Congratulations on 10 years Amar!
It was fun skiing with you and everybody else.

Have admired your desire to keep going, and going, and going....

I couldn't have said it any better. Glad to hear you had good conditions on Rainier!
That looks absolutely amazing!  I am heading there tomorrow morning (SAT).  Is the slope right above the Hogsback camp still really icy (crampons)?

So stoked!
Congrats Amar!  Couldn't get out my work commitments Thursday; bummer.  Have admired your desire to keep going, and going, and going....

HUDGE THANKS!
My understanding is that "got" is used more for obtaining like "I got it" or becoming/changing states like "I got cold/tired/etc" whereas "have" is for possession, which is where I screw it up.

How far did you have to hike to before being able to put on skins?  Hopefully another week or two and we can skin/ski from Paradise...

From the visitor center, we put skis on just above Pan Pt. I'd like that too, but don't look at the weather forecast for the next week+.
That is sweet.....cant wait to get back up in the pow.
Do not forget to actually support our brothers and sisters on the frontline. This movement needs us...

We put our skins on at the Stevens Van Trump Memorial via the 4th crossing trail.  I think it's a little over a mile.
I'm looking forward to skiing to the car too.
Second picture is $$$$
Great video by the way.  Looks like you got some fantastic snow!

How or when is "got" to be used?

Is it o.k. to use "of" at the end of a sentence?

Amazing the things I learn serendipityiously (?) at this site!
Thanks for the report and welcome to TAY.
We're going somewhere near Baker for an OcTAYberfest this weekend, and this gives us another destination.
Thanks for that Ron, I never knew that and now hope to use it on my wife and pretend that I did.  FWIW, I do correctly use "less" and "fewer", yet I often still say "got" when i should say "have".
Great day of skiing up there.  We made it up to Muir around 11 ish.  Is it now standard TAY policy to post a picture of yourself at Muir to validate that you were actually there?
Nice to meet some of you guys on such a fantastic day. -Brad

edit: the author of deleted post above this must've figured out the (very good) photoshop.
