I need you on my speed dial for car to car skiing all year. Well done.

Congrats on a full year! And also - nice work sniffing out the good skiing at Harts Pass! That is master level creativity when you ski bluebird powder on a weekend, close to the car, and nobody else thought to go. A+! Thanks for posting. Keep it up!

Glad to hear you didn't have to pay a huge fine and listen to a ranger harangue you.
What was the procedure for unlocking the gate?

October Sirens of WA Pass.  Many a skiwrecked skier and many more ski bases dashed on the rocks under the allure.  The cruelest month indeed.

Ha, that looks fun, Andy. A bit of a rocky tail behind your skis : ) but sure nice to get the turns!

That was me on Pan Point!

Such a fun day!

U kin du it

Webcams show enough snow at Paradise to skin from the stairs.  I am hoping for a shot at Chinook Pass this fall.  The way things are coming down there could be some early closures of passes?  Or early openings of lifts???

Mack, you rascal, slipped in and grabbed the low hanging fruit! Iโ€™m in the same boat I was in last month. Iโ€™m hoping this string of storms delivers some snow grass skiing closer to home, but Paradise is always on the menu. Looked at the webcam yesterday morning looked like white rain in the parking lot. Thanks for the report.

Hi Andy and Mike.  I just watched this vid a month later, after posting a TR.  So funny/ironic that you cramponed to the tourist road.  We walked part of that same area 20 years ago and I would have thrilled to see 2 skier dudes.  What we do!

Nice Trip! Thanks for the photos. Looks like an awesome summer spot.

Look out below!

Thanks for the videos. We could never understand the experience without them.

Seems like a cool area. Weird to see those giant trucks out on the ice. No need to pay heed to the negativity!

Will trade forecasts 4 coop skis!

Looks like a great area. Nice pictures, too!

Thanks for the stoke!

Ahhhh brings a smile to my face. Snow is back on the menu - respect to you guys for keeping the tradition and vibe alive.

Hey! Great TR, I was curious if you had a GPS track or think that this bowl is still skiiable  this weekend? (09/25/21) I am looking for my September ski and don't want to ski St. Marys.

Cheers,

Haley

Quite a sight for sore eyes from the "Dependables'

Thanks for the stoke. Nice skis.

Well played you all. It begins.

Mike's pow boards:

@ps44 we saw the ghosts of your tracks!

@waveshello - I was optimistically hoping for 24" of unconsolidated snow, and these are my trail-breakers (of course by COOP Skis of Wenatchee). 130mm at the waist. ๐Ÿ˜€ I call them the "Legit130" because the top sheet art is by Gretchen Leggitt from Bellingham. I didn't take a good picture of the skis this trip, but here is a picture of the tips:

Oh baby, this is a sight for sore eyes! Way to get after it, thanks for the pics.

Mike, that's quite the low-tide flotation you've got there--what are those?

Who'd thought of running into two "Wenatchee-ans" with skis in September, but it was nice to finally meet longtime TAYers and to ski together!  We did one lap from 8k' down to Pebble Creek in the AM and skiing was very good.  I then skinned up to 9500' above which the new snow seemed much thinner among many icy islands.  The PM snow was wetter but still pretty good.

Happy Wenatchee-ans:

Thanks for the wonderful report, Iโ€™m afraid if I had to work that hard to TAY i might bail. But as Iโ€™m sure you already know itโ€™s the path not the destination that makes life so rich.

Looks great and yay for September turns. Beautiful pictures, as always (we were there on Sunday, getting the tail of the storm).

And it was smooth! What a treat in September. Really great to run into Kenji and get to walk uphill with him too. Here is Kenji skiing with Jamie below and Mt. Adams off in the distance. Bluebird fresh. Hard to beat!

And here is a white tailed ptarmigan. A bird I don't see often.

Ha, Mack, Mike and I did that last yearโ€ฆ.in the rain! We only made two laps! Way to go. We stole the apple yesterday on Rainier 3 inches of fresh on a firm smooth base! Iโ€™ll try and get up a post.

It ain't the Old Chute, but it's all mine  ๐Ÿ˜

Way to get after it, Mack!

Re: Bladder Management

Ziploc bags are your friend.

Enjoy your adventures in WA, Clapper Adventures!

This is the best looking recent run posted.  KUDOS! Do you happen to have a GPS track you'd share?  I'm coming from Utah and am unfamiliar with the area.

Nice job there Mr. Rusty Knees & Co.  As the snow gets firmer, shorter, and steeper, the falls get ouch-ier.

I'm getting concerned about August turns but will look at Bagley or OP.

How was the hike around the lake? I've not done that trail in summer in many years. Last time I did it we were able to ski across the lake ;-)

Don, The reality of the "trip" is enjoyable.๐Ÿ˜€ Your style of writing the trip report is GREAT.

I have learned "Bladder Management" from my urologist.๐Ÿ˜„

HAHAHA! Bladder Management! One of the TAY problems that can't be mitigated with lighter gear :)

Every camping trip I wrassle with "get up and pee" vs. "I can make it".  Nice to see I'm not alone :)

Thanks - Not sure how much has melted out in the past week.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the 300' vert that I saw off the summit is still there.

The pass is dry.

Nice TR. I am thinking about vesper this Saturday to notch a July tour. Planning on hiking to the top, how much vert do you think Iโ€™ll have to ski?

Just seeing this. Some wicked shit out there.

Nice job!  When Ryan and I did this traverse we thought it was a classic but it took ten years for someone to confirm it๐Ÿ˜Ž.  Very impressive time and bike solution to getting back to start.  Loved the video, especially where you poured out water from the shell.  We found the hardest part skiing by the ski area and not stopping.

Damn; way to get after it!  ...so good

Thanks for the report. Making a loop out of it by bike is an elegant solution.

Long day!  Nice job - liked the video - short and to the point - I'm tired just watching it. ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks for sharing that TR, Kam. That's real commitment. 3pm start with margarine in the backpack and no ride back from the trailhead. I haven't done any of the other traverses up there, but it felt pretty classic and uncontrived.
