Well done! As Pete and I were skiing back to the Whistler base on Saturday I commented that the only thing that would make the trip better would be if we were to see a bear (saw one at the midstation several years ago.) Looks like you guys got that nugget of coolness! Great pics!

We enjoyed similar conditions on the Iago and the Diavolo :) Euphemistically the skiing was described as "fast" and "technical". Instead of the Singing Pass trail we slogged up Oboe and Flute before enjoying the best turns of the day down slushy groomers back to the village.

Yes.. nice to meet you. Great campsite. Yes..we went straight down the Macbeth. It was an icy death ski over frozen avy debris and coral reef skin tracks followed by an icy death skin track up the other side that I booted at several steep bits, then a survival ski on breakable crust down the Overlord Glacier with a traverse to the hut.... followed by some actual enjoyable luge skiing down the...
Nice work you two, getting out to a seldom-skied aspect of an oft-skied mountain. Great photos, stunning day. Love the view of Mt Adams centered above the deep notch in the rim carved by the Shoestring Glacier.

Nice work, Becky and Pete! You nailed the weather window. We were a day behind you... Saturday was gorgeous, Sunday dawned nice but clouded up quickly. The snow stayed crusty all day but at least the weather held until we reached Flute summit in a whiteout at mid-afternoon. Awesome traverse, would love to do some more skiing along the way next time!

Sooo rad. Keep those photos coming! Furthermore, I'd love to have a 1920 x whatever sized images in 72 dpi for use as a desktop. It will be painful to look at while at work, but it will be inspiring.

Darryl and I skied out of Narada on 4 inches of untracked and unaffected... Great skiing. Saw not even one person or snowshoer all day (ours was the only car in the parking lot when we set out) until running into Ranger Dan in the lot at the bottom of Narada Face. Dan's truck and two other cars in the lot upon our return.
It appears that we may be the only heathens that frequent Rainier :)

Yes the exit was skiable, although it required a little side slipping

Beautiful pictures Pete and Becky. I thought we would be on the surfboards by now but this has to be the best April for powder skiing I have experienced in the Cascades. I have yet to do the Spearhead and will be looking at doing it this spring sometime in corn conditions.

Back to Whistler base at 4.00 Pm on Sunday to live music and cheesburgers at the base.
First time for me and the last time I every carry an overnight pack on it.
Absolutely right..... either a one day or >3 days as a two day pack toooo heavy.

Thanks Kevin! I left out the carnage about the deproach. As you know, the mudslide closed the road about 1.5 miles from 8 mile road. On top of that, there are two miles of dry road to hike back to bridge creek c.g. We ended up hiking a total of about 4 miles back to 8 mile c.g.
