Cool trip!  I usually start hallucinating around hour 18.  21 hours sounds grueling!  Mt. Thompson looks big...
that's a great, great trip you two. I love it.
Nice.  Leaving the NW Face of Matier to you real mountaineer types, we took a local's tip and skied the Stonecrop Glacier route on Slalock (up Anniversary Gl. and over) Friday after skiing Vantage on Thursday - by Jon's GPS, we had dropped the first 3300' before it stopped being continuous faceshot powder.  Quite a show from the sun warmed point releases high on Joffre.  What an area.  What a spring.
It was a great day in the mountains.  Really fun seeing your tracks on Shuksan after returning from the Watson.  Good effort buddy.  Here is Louie's write up of the Watson.

Congrats to all the great trips put up over the weekend.
Awesome video! Pretty sure I was the guy you met up top with the girl. The other two skies not the snowshoes if you saw them.. With the girl who actually talked while i just sat there lol.

We had basically the same conditions as you guys but after you sort of stopped in the first run we went skiers right. Really ran into everything from 3-4" of powder to ice to sticky snow to corn. Made skiing interesting. 100" of corn then sticky snow followed by powder followed by ice lol....
looks amazing thanks! Was considering but my partner decided for something wya more mellower  for a tour after not doing anything for a month :)

Should be up there mothers day weekend though! glad to hear its still pretty decent snow!

Love the first and second photos. Nice feeling of being in the action.
Excellent day for such a trip! I was up i tha area on Super  Bowl Sunday, and it was all rain!! I've also heard this called, 'Big Guye' couloir. Thanks for the Beta...
This turned out to be a great trip, some would even say "epic."

But Kenji always seems to have fun in the sun, dancing down long couloirs.  Charge or is it "Charger?"

Thanks for the TR, nice work.  What was your route of ascent?

Commonwealth, then up between Guye Peak and Cave Ridge.
Thanks for the TR, nice work.  What was your route of ascent?

Oh my. That last shot. Killing me.
Awesome, hats-off to you!
Dan and Drew - super cool, i have climbed it as an ice climb ;-)  Guess i need to get one of those anti gravity suits or something.  Congratulations boys!
Awesome, great line in primo conditions!!  Good work.
Wow, we were going to write up a TR for the exact same dates but got beaten to it?!?! I'm surprised we didn't see you because we got back at about the same time too. Or did we? As a family party we were pretty conspicuous.

We camped on the saddle between the Macbeth and Iago glaciers. This spared us most of the ice, except for one death-defying traverse.

It seemed like we were s...
Great trip Oyvind (and crew), on a great line! Glad you all had such a good time.
That second picture is spectacular. Nice trip boys
strong work guys, and great pics.  congrats!
So many trips getting done this weekend - amazing - spearhead day trips, forbidden tour, nisqually ice cliff, watson traverse.................guess the guns were loaded for a break in the weather!  Happy Easter ;-)
Hell yeah! Remote, committing, inspiring! Congratulations you guys!
Awesome. In this day and age I wouldn't be surprised if someone ski based right off the ice cliff.
lots of terrain back there that makes it a good idea to go at a slower pace... next time I do the trip, it'll either just be a one-day jaunt so we can skip the camping gear or take the extra day or two to allow some yo-yos.  We just didn't trust the weather was going to hold Sunday, so we did the two day itinerary.

FYI- for those who are thinking about doing the trip soon, we heard the Singing Pass Pass trail still has plenty of snow the whole way, so its not necessar...
WOW, that was a quick trip.  You had beautiful weather and the photos are great.  When I did the traverse, we had an extra day which allowed time to ski more.  It's great that you were able to ski to the base with the fat snowpack. I remember having to hike down from the lower gondola station.   :'(

Wow that line is so filled in.

Great work on a line so many people have been waiting to slay.
Great work guys SUCH a epic area!!!

Another drool worthy line for sure.
Nice work guys!  Can't wait to see pictures!  :)
Cooler than a moose & twice as hairy!
Many people, including myself were admiring your ascent route from the ski area.
As native guide Sluiskin said in the Chinook jargon trade language after the reputed 1st ascent of Rainier by Stevens & Van Trump:  "Skookum tillicum! Skookum tumtum!"  (Strong men!  Brave hearts!)  Impressive feat, Bravo!
Nice capture guys! Congrats on getting the route in such fine shape...better than I've ever seen it and I've been keeping an eye on it for years with the intent of skiing it. Very cool!
Great work you all, skiing one of the few remaining unskied routes on the Mountain. (If someone has skied the Ice Cliff before, I'd like to find out about it!) In all the years that I can recall, the route has never had as clean and direct a ski line as it does this year.

And it was really nice to run into you at Pebble Creek afterwards, fresh off the big descent, and chat for a bit. We were headed down the Nisqually towards the bridge anyway, so we ended up following your tracks...

Another view yesterday on our way to Roosevelt...

Great pic as usual, Kenji.  Thanks.
First descent, really, Lowell?  Figured some Alpentalic might have done it back in the day.
Great TR and the first photo is fantastic.
If we had known, we'd have skied more neatly!

so, is that a first ski descent of the full length of the route (with rappel)? maybe it's a stupid question but i've only heard of sky sjue skiing the upper face and bailing due to conditions. any other record of ski descents? lowell?

First ski descent that I know of.
that begger fox at narada almost got me killed when some idiot stopped on a blind curve and i almost tailended him as  a giant SUV swerved around me into the oncoming lane which fortunately was empty. when i hit my horn the fox climbed a ten foot vertical snow wall with no problem.
