Sherman Peak is a scenic summit.  Is that Reed P?  OMG HI2U buddy!

(Edit SHEMAN to Sherman that was unintentional)

1) This is epic! Thanks for sharing! I love the long walks for "gimmicky" skiing.

2) How did you get to add so many photos? I thought there was a 10 photo limit. Btw - they are great!

Nice update!

Sherman Pk looks like a worthy destination on it's own!

Looks like fun. You all are strong to carry your gear in and out of there, even if the trail's "good".

Legendary patch skiers strike again

I've seen overflow parking at that  trailhead even  some years ago in summer, though not running  more  than a few hundred yards down  the road. Between the  increase in the  region's population,  the  increase in the  percent of people who get out  hiking, the impact  of COVID on outdoor recreation (i.e. incenting people to do stuff outside because it's good for your health and also it's not a scary indoor public space) and the ampl...

Mike , your TR and photos of the terrain plus the flowers was GREAT.  It was good that you did the video of the ride from the parking "lot" to the "end" of the parking places. I think the "end" continued to grow after you left. On this trip, Thursday night was good and Saturday was a mess. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Teannaway provides! Nice one guys!!

Hedonaut, Thanks!

Here's the best I've got. Definitely some plums out there. Maybe a downclimb/rappel?

Strong work day-tripping from the closed road!  As others said, good timing and quite the score.

Sent you a message inquiring re: more pics of the Mowich-Ptarmigan zone, if you are willing to share.

Thanks for the beta!

Heading tomorrow with my son. We plan to have a camp above treeline and try the summit Saturday.

Thanks for tha beta. You're on a roll!

A timely report! My wife and a crew are headed that way soon. Thanks

Excellent. Solid score.

Zap, Yep thought of folks who do the Wonderland without sleep. lots of stumps on that one.

skykilo, I'm sure it's a whole different game being the 1st. The baking instructions from your TR were spot on. So crazy the stuff you guys skied on ice.

I see them now! Cool trip to an area I don't know

Rad!  Between this and other accounts of skiing it with powder I feel like a goofball.  Might have to ski it again one of these years with good conditions.  Posted while escaping a heat wave with two munchkins in a grove of aspens at 10,000 ft.

Yowza! Way to get after it. A day to remember.

A BIG day with your thoughts and photos.

"Several Klondike-esqu prospectors with gold pans appeared in the ditch along the road and then transformed into stumps." Yes, I had a few "bears along the road" that transformed into stumps. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is super rad. Looks like you SCORED.

Likewise, Kam!

Dont forget those pocket glaciers north of 3rd burrough and 2nd Burrough. We ran into Art Freeman there on sunday,

The suncups are growing noticeably day-to-day. Skiing goes until ~10 feet before the 4th Crossing trailhead.

Nice to meet you up there finally, Andy!

Excellent beta, thank you!

Thanks for the TR, but your pictures aren't showing up for me.

View from the Stevens-VanTrump-Sluiskin Monument today.

Today

Thanks for the photo update - looks surprisingly smooth for July!

Were you able to drive to 4th Crossing?

Bravo! AR, off the couch, Phinneyโ€™s hardest charging family man :)

Magnificent! I was up there a few weeks ago and itโ€™s still looking good.

I didn't really keep track of the descent time but probably around 1.5 hours to ski down. We were in no hurry to get back up to the Interglacier.

Hi there!! I'm fairly new to Bellingham, and I haven't been up to 542 since COVID. I was wondering if you guys had any pictures from your recent trips? Just looking to see what everything was looking like, and what was still looking good. Hoping to go up in the next few days, but I just wanted to research some. Thanks!

Right on.

I've never been up there but it looked like there was a skintrack from the lower Eliot onto the dome that avoided crevasses.

Nice trip report! How was the access to the Snow Dome looking?

Nice. I opted for a less turn-efficient loop around Table on Monday, coming back via the route that skirts just north of the true summit before dropping the Table Mtn Glacier back down to Bagley Lakes. Such a pretty route, and other than a few bare patches near the Forest Service building  and one very short dry patch in the tree band getting over to the south side of Table, it was still continuous snow the whole way. Dog and I saw no one past Artist Point but we did see marmots and a de...

๐Ÿ˜Ž 3rd shot is sick!

A few more photos

Inspired by this report, Reed and I finally got out and skied the Spur today. Great fast hiking in trail shoes from Tilly Jane camp up to 9k. Crampons from there to the top. We brought two axes although it wasn't essential. We left camp at 5:30 and were at the base of the chimneys by 9, but still had one disconcerting set of grapefruit sized rocks whiz down. Leaving an hour earlier would have been smarter.

We topped out at 10:15 and the snow was already nicely softened to the summit r...

What a cool route that really does justice to one of the prettiest spots in the cascades.

Such a fun tour! Good skiing with ya

Nice pics, looks like a fun outing.  Forgive the digression, but another Park HW option without climbing it first is to ski it to just above the bergschrund, then climb to the summit again.

It is enjoyable to read your TR, photos and the video is well done.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

A great, big day.๐Ÿ˜€

The choke points were still ~20ft wide. Should go cleanly for a few more weeks.

Good stuff! Much snow left on the upper spur?

Sweeeeeet!!! Way to make it work with the tiny window.

You guys make some nice turns.

FYI the only way I've found onto the Park headwall is usually hard climber's left approximately above the apex of Boulder ridge and out of sight from your photos. The bergschrund typically pinches off over there but opens up some time in late Spring or Summer. One time we gained the headwall by climbing onto a wedged block in the 'schrund underneath the cliffy section directly below the summi...
