Nice work!  The ride down the Renfrew is really fun, even if low angle.....lots of wide open cruising!
Great day, thanks to everyone! My TR on NWH.
Team TLT5 is a fun crew to roll with.

On the 4th of July in 1999 my dad, brother and I were able to ski from Cowboy down to the groomer machine shed on nice continuous snow.

Way to celebrate Independence!  I think I've skied 3 times on the 4th; my wife and I had some fine turns at Crater Lake in 2010.
Nice first post and welcome to TAY  8)
Sweet vids!  Nice meeting you guys (shred & FreeBird) and good to see Silas once again.  Till next time...
Great sounding trip.  I've climbed the South Twin and have always wanted to ski the North Face of the North Twin.
If you go again, and you don't mind a tag along, send me a PM.

Looks like a brand new bouldering area was created there!
sourdough chutes were still holding plenty of snow this weekend...the chutes around Antler peak had good coverage and there were plenty of nice lines all the way along Sourdough towards Mt.Fremont.  Dege Pk never came outta the clouds, but I imagine it was in fine shape too.
Thanks.  I was hoping to hear news from sunrise.  How do the sourdough chutes look?

What?  You have snow???
July 2, just as good. Great snow and merciful cloud cover. Here's another pic going up and the bear. Great day to be out there. We hiked 90 minutes before putting skis on.
I was expecting to see a few bears but we must have just missed them. Lots of bear scat and sightings by others.
Nice turns in July! Any bears on the trail?

Beta on the approach? Where did you put skins on?

I crossed the river on a tiny tree at the flagged switchbacks a bit before glacier basin and switched to skins very shortly thereafter. By next weekend it might be better to keep the shoes on until glacier basin camp.

The new white river trail as of last year is really nice.

That view of the slopes above the clouds is just awesome.
Nice.  Looks like the chutes should still be in condition in two weeks.  Most excellent!
What a great video and song. You captured the joy.
Beautiful tele turns BTW!
Nice...........I'm suffering envy.
Nice!  How long are you down there?  I'm considering skiing the South Sister on July 9th.
Great to hear there is still so much snow up there.  I was curious and almost headed up there on Saturday but decided to take my kids on a hike to Deer Ridge, not much snow there, and I couldn't see to obstruction point etc.
I don't know if I have the discipline for a twofer, but I love the fact that you got one! way to go.
Nice work, I am jealous, and inspired.
Wow - big rocks!  Thanks for the scale on the 1st one.
Great to meet you and yourpartner, shespiste.  Keith got some good photos too.  Maybe he will post them now, since I left town before I wrote a TR.  Wish the weather was as good down in southern Oregon.
Great video!  Last year we camped there also.  Liked the shot of you two drinking a beer at your campsite ;).
Rad Vid, BirdMan! TeamTLT Rock'n "CONTINUOUS" Snow!
Sweet.
I just told the Rondonniers.
They smiled as they waited patiently in the car for their turn later today. :)

The link you posted is to the book the movie is based on (my German's rusty, but "Gebundene Ausgabe" translates to "Hardcover Edition": http://www.dict.cc/?s=Gebundene+Ausgabe)

Sorry, yes you are right, I took the wrong link. The correct link to the movie is

Holy Hanna.  Incredible job.  I would've been chased off at the sight of that giant seracfall triggered avalanche.

Thanks for taking a picture of my tracks......and where I skied that day it was memorable one besides the extra walk on the road from the Jackson Center to Mazama Ridge area.  I was concerned about crevasses so I traveled up the way I descended.
Was up there for after work tour. Fueled up on now-traditional Trailboss spicy pork sammy and got going ~5:40. 4 other cars there. A previous report said something about 'can drive to summer th' - welll ... can drive to the Cold Creek/Catherine TH, but NOT the PCT th.

Going through clearcut on way up, there were a few frustrating impasse where the snow ended and getting to the next patch maybe 50' away wasn't trivial, because the berrybushes and scrub hemlock have...
Planning on heading up tomorrow, but have never actually skied Silver Peak.  Any info on the route?  I'm assuming it's clear as day, but would rather have an idea prior.  Trying to get my first year of turns all year with my wife AND see the Euro Cup Final tomorrow.  Silver looks ideal for this.

Thanks.
Nice, Mike!  Great shot there of you teleing taken from above, looking down on the lake.
Here is some video and photos from the day...

Thanks for the Vid Garrett! It was nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you today Silas and crew!  Thanks for guiding me a bit through the bushwacking back to the car. Nice skiing higher up though. Here are some clips from the ski down that I strung together: http://youtu.be/Ilh-tiM2ZzY?hd=1
Nice trip. It looks pretty melted out up there.  Man, what was up with guy? I hope he was training for glacier rescue. Either that or he ate some bad mushrooms for breakfast!

Thanks for sharing.  I was on Interglacier on the 28th and was wondering what the weather was doing at Muir.  We watched the clouds rip over Rainier from the south.  In under a minute the the top 4000 feet of Rainier went from blue skies to complete whiteout.

I see your buddy has an axe, but did he rock tennis shoes up the north face? Or did he take the west ridge? Any of the truck drivers say anything to you?
He rocked the shoes up the north face. He originally wasn't going to go that far he was going for the bike ride , but once we got that close he went for it. I let him use my axe and I used my whippet.
I talk...
Lots of safety meetings. The where the F.... is Silas??? type of safety meetings. Glad you found the right way, instead of our wrong way.  Next time, we shall conquer.
Watched Aaron pull his Dynafit toes into full lock mode in the video.  No place to lose a ski, eh?

I have go calm down now and let my breathing return to normal.
