Good Stuff!

I go to school and ski with Eric, and can attest to his masochistic sense of pleasure. Last year he climbed and skied Mt Baker as well as the North Twin, biking to TH's from bellingham. He is a beast.
Awesome shots! thanks for introducing me to heather ridge, I've got a whole new zone to explore now.
Nice trip report! Thanks!  :)
the lake looks covered but i'm sure there are lil fissures to water still around.
Thanks!  I figured it must have a name  ;D
Killer TR Chris, thanks for sharing!
I love that line.  The run down to Snow Lake can get pretty wind blown - was that the concern?  With the warm weather we had until 2 weeks ago, then the heavy snow, is Snow Lake rock solid to cross?  I would think so, but haven't seen much on that yet.
Deep Deep Deep
The wind was strong enough to impact some of the slopes above the road so we were planing on the surface on the last run back to the car.  Other than that it was thigh-deep and face shots every turn.
We got some Hood Canal-effect snow yesterday, so I got to X-C out my back door on a White Christmas.  Happy Holidays  :)
Gary, Jan, Jeff and Mack... thanks for the excellent time.  What an excellent trip... even the trail breaking was fun :)

I'll post some pictures soon once I emerge from the holiday clean up  ;D
Best shots of the BPC I've ever seen!  Brings back fond memories.  Thanks for sharing!
Your pictures are outstanding.  Would have paid top $$ to join an outing with conditions like this.  Good on ya.
Great seeing you guys at the beginning and ending of the day!

Nice trip Father! You're right though, pictures not that great due to constant snowfall and powder skiing. Life's rough eh?! Look forward to getting those long legs of yours to break some trail next week in the lovely PNW!
Thanks Silas foir the great Christmas Present.  How'd you know I wanted powder runs... lol
An all smiles day -Thanks!

Tried to post a few small images, but just get website error messages...

A short clip of the top of one of the runs

Carl is in there somewhere
If Silas or Charlie ski many more days in a row, I'm going to pull my hair out with jealousy.  Merry Christmas to all the prolific skiers!
Various N-E aspects between 4-6K shed snow readily on steeper slopes.  I say various meaning not definitively definable, i.e. always take NWAC forecasts with a grain of salt and always exercise your in-the-moment contextual backcountry powers of observation.

Fun day. Fantastic moonlight!

Gansta

I really enjoyed your website,  I'm a regular up at Baker with alot of years spent in the backcountry.  I'm starting to explore across the border and find your postings helpful.  Do you ever go up to the huts around Pemberton?  I would love to get some insiders info.

Don
Way to get after it! What great powder skiing!

Saturday it howled all day and we punched through past steep and icy with very poor visibility.

Sunday, the north side of Klahanne offered us the best snow of the season and well worth the wait after the winds died down! Deep!

I had the Hill all to myself today. It was wind free and crystal clear for the entire day!
Susan and I overnighted at Wildcat Lakes. Real TR to follow.

Skiing good on all aspects where sheltered. Last night's snow didn't bond all that well, saw two shallow natural slides on that interface, probably triggered by rock/tree plops. Best skiing S of Gem lake; sluffs ran easily 15 inches down.

Cresting the Snow Lake Divide by moonlight was sublime.  Huge thank you for the skintrack at the end of a long day!

Merry Christmas all!
looks like a fun day.  conditions were good out there.  it was cool running into you guys in the parking lot (both times).
We skiied saturday in the resort and there were no lift lines and no traffic on way home, kind of strange. heather ridge looked deserted too.
agreed on slim coverage at pass
Sounds like you were on East Peak. We followed your tracks on Sunday and but were slow enough for only one lap down into Bullion Basin. Snow was fantastic, can't wait to go back.
Snoqualmie is terrible. No good coverage, head to Stevens and crystal.
Thanks for posting, nice work.  Keep it up please!  Happy Holidays.
Good to see enough coverage on the lower elevation objectives, if the temps keep low enough it opens up more options. Thanks for sharing.

We had most of the ridge to ourselves today...

Yah.
It was DESERTED at the pass. No highway noise, even...
"All I can hear is the ringing in my ears."
Kurt agreed, citing his own ringing ears.
It was great. :-)

Take a camera next time Cornelius ;)
This is my favorite trip report in a while!  So excited to visit my brother in SLC and ski bluebird Wasatch powder!  I keep coming back to drool over your photos.
Probably a decent call Doug -- sounds like a bunch of the Leavenworth based Stevens employees couldn't get up the highway.  The resort was empty and they weren't spinning all the chairs, at least in the morning...

Stevens seems to have gotten more of the last storm cycle than Snoqualmie, for sure.  Damn good coverage for December.
Conditions in the Far East were excellent as well.
L****n calling, yeah, I was there, too
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!

;)
Nice write up Stefan, it felt good to explore the Old Norse roots.
Nice, Marcus. Sounds like a good day for you.

David and I are two that headed elsewhere after hearing of limited lift service at Stevens. We went to the chairs at Snoqualmie, which really weren't that crowded for a holiday weekend.

Saw Zap and friends working some nice lines.

Looking around Snoqualmie, I think we need a couple more storms to really fill things in.
My ancestors had some sweet terrain.
the twelve pics of Sweden:

Sweden's South Couloir

at the airport - but no security(?)

Gosh Jeff, let's see great snow, great job with the camera, nice ending, good music, nice edit. thanks
Toured up to the exit of Thunder Creek and enjoyed 2 laps in the Phantom Trees meeting the vague description Silas gave. Settled 6-12" powder with immediate cross loading above 5k. As you can see the Exit chute was loading from the wind and exposed rocks right below the cornice. I triggered a small section 5-8' back from the lip of the cornice, not resulting avalanche on the slope below, but not a big trigger.
I like Susan's hat. Is she skiing with the hat during the snow day's ?
West facing timbered slopes had excellent stable 8-12" powder today 5500-4000'.  Partly cloudy with light winds above 5000', foggy below.
Sweden today for us... but I do believe we heard your voices. Only possible explanation I could muster is that sound must travel at a much higher efficiency rate in the higher realms... Though I'm pretty sure I saw your tracks too. Not sure how to explain that. Montana, eh?  Looks pretty!  Def no Santas in Sweden...

Will post pics later...
holy shit that looks deeep
was that you we ran into on your exit from the commonwealth?
super swell of you kids to groom hyak before the public rolls it.
Nice TR, Herman is my favorite for easy access
Some photos form the first two laps
