Quite possibly, Alisse, but we need more snow...or at least a big mid-October flurry!! A pint of bourbon is far lighter, though. 😂
Thanks, Mr. Burns: I appreciate your info. I'm heading up next weekend, Sept 25. I originally wanted Palmer "Glacier" on Hood, but will be completely melted by then. Here's to Ice Skiing in the presen...
Thanks for this great report, and also great pix showing the stability. Since stability of the snowpack appears to be a major issue thus far in the season, it is nice to see a good tour that included...
Traslin Brothers. What a way to spend your time in Canada! A bit envioius down this way...and way to go with the TAY numbers growing!
"All powder skiers are equal, but some are more equal tha...
You must have run across my tracks from earlier in the morning. The avy fan still has nice ski-ability. Congrats on 100 months...
If a ski touring soul were able to find access to NFS lands NOT using one of the mentioned entrance points, could they then use the NFS land they have accessed? How about other Federal/State lands?
The USFS Policy also appears to be the same in ALL WA and OR NFS areas.
Great trip, Lane! You've had quite a winter so far. This was a much more sporty trip than last Tuesday...Keep those tips up, brutha!!!
Aaasen and I took the same trip on St. Patty's day. Didn't leave any Green Snow, but had a helluva time!
Nice outing! BTW; what is that stuff spraying up from the skis? Rain powder?? ;D ;D ;D
Friends in Bend. I was told that can't even park on highway shoulder to access off-season.
Bachelor's parking policy for uphill travelers now is essentially prohibitive, with a limited daily time slot for uphill. "Greed is good!" And I had a time crunch, so the getting there-...
Congrats on 264 + 1!
Random rocks notwithstanding, your neighborhood coverage beats my neighborhood coverage in spades! Way to go get October, over and over...
Epic Powder Field...
Bagley Lakes Postage Stamp...2 1/2 hour drive, 10 minutes walk. Solitude all the way around! Congrats on 22 years. 1 month ahead of me...
Nice August tag, Telemack! You are an oxen for climbing above and beyond the call of duty!! Nice views and snow, though, I am guessing. I've done that morning ski/afternoon broil before, a few ye...
Nice snowfield..."Daniel you're the star, in the face of my eyes", Sir Elton. Way to tag August, Mike.
Way to get those July turns, Mack! Hopefully there'll be enough leftover postage for September and October turns. And great fortune running into the Traslin's, legends who they are...Cheers!...
It sure is, mikerolfs! I validated it on Monday, July 29, for month 261. Still about 180' of vert, and the sunrise corn was a sweet treat to only have to walk 15 minutes from the car for!!!
F*CKIN' A! What do you do to top that? Bellingham to Rainer and back in a day!? Way to go. That's a year of TAY in a day...
Yahoo, Snoholic! Go get 'em. Post your follow-up. Love to see wher you've been...I've got a few pix, but they're apparently too big to be posted. And I'm not tech-savvy enough...
I'm glad to see an 'Urban Touring' report, as I'm confident that many in our ski community continue to take advantage of turns close to home. I live in Edmonds, and I, too, took th...
Better snow "quality", shorter drive, and 3 times as many turns as the Bagley Lake Postage Stamp at Hwy 542's end! Congrats...
That spot is one of the easiest go-to's in the region! Always a laugh to think that I drive nearly 3 hours each way for 10 minutes of walking and 3 minutes of skiing. Good on ya! The "sickne...
Well done. Never summer...
Micro patches trump no patches AN time! Well done, Tele...
Drats. Hoping for groomers today (Vets Day, 11/10/17), but instead found boot-high freshies over old tracks on Skyline's Headwall run. A fantastic beginning to Year 21!
