I am enjoying an "Adventure Year" semi-sabbatical leave to teach high school in Juneau, Alaska. September here brings RAIN in droves and buckets, but the 1st was a day where the front was just coming in. There are a few decent patches above town, about a 1.5 hour walk from the trailhead for Mt. Gastineau/Roberts, with 2000 feet of sweat equity. After work cam the Alpine Therapy that was necessary, and I managed a 200-vert-ft run on some nasty chatter that lead to a fun no-fall-into rock patch. Would've taken another run, but turnaround time to beat the darkness came into play. Month 287 and counting!
