Snowblades may well be the way to do this! But how well do they ski steep corn?  ;D
Little late on the reply here - but awesome work! I was basically wanting to ski all those lines you guys nailed. That rock band where you encountered the injured climb is indeed sketch and certainly adds some risk to that slope.

Looks like fun!
Nice to meet you guys Snomad. I was definitely not expecting to see any other splitters up there, let alone 3!

In addition to the subpar snow, my descent from the summit was particularly crappy due to my G3 skins leaving glue all over my base. Trying to maintain speed to traverse around giant crevasses with a sticky base that kept slowing me down made for an interesting ride! All worth it for the views that day though. Pretty cool to turn one way and see St. Helens and turn the other...
Nice pictures and thanks  for the condition update!  Now I know where I am heading for my September turns.
Hey Snomad, nice to meet you guys. I added two pictures of you and your friend boarding down those "fun" waves on the Corridor. Have fun with the rest of the summer.
sweet! wish i could have made this trip, thinks for sharing
Awesome! Nice work guys, we were the group of 3 split boarders camped right above you. I found us in the pic with the blue mountain hardware tent haha. Nice running into you guys and glad you got a beautiful day on the mountain the next day! Those sun cups from ~11k down made for a wild ride with the weight on the back, huh?
Yep, timing is everything! Glad to know you had great conditions, Silas. After reading your report I was hoping the smooth snow would last but the sublimation was faster than us. Next time!
great vid and turns!
Sorry to hear the skiing was suboptimal rc. Your report makes me even more thankful for my perfect three day trip last month!  Thanks again Amar.
Quite the juxtaposition of old-school ski and high tech boot!

Chocolate chip mess.  Kudos to all you big boys.

The only other time I've been in that gully was with you, Pete. It's way more pleasant with snow.

Snowblades are the current equivalent of Figls -- with so many resorts offering primarily groomed snow they are no longer a "summer snow" specialty item.

A light setup really helps for such a long carry, but honestly the worst part of it is all the rock tail banging you do on the way down.

A pair of these would solve the tail banging problem.

I don't know if these little "figl" skis are sold anymore. They were fun to...

Boy, the Colchuck Glacier looks like chocolate mess.

Looks great! Was up there two weeks ago for 7/31 and 8/1 and it doesn't appear to have changed much. I was very surprised how well it skied. Did you skirt left or through the middle of the big crack at about 8000'? Skiing down through the valley at the bottom was a bit interesting with all of the running water underneath.
Check out this photo from KPQ.com!  Here is the third helicopter!

I think we saw you! We were walking off Serpentine Arete at around 2:30pm.

hah, yep that's me! I wondered where you had come from. Nice work!
Wow, I had no idea.  The West village web cam shows nothing but dirt and a few patches up top.

Nice work Matt! Looks like beautiful weather. The view from that Dragontail shoulder is a nice one. A great ski pitch. I saw from your pic from Aasgard that the snow is continuous, but if you fell at the top, you'd probably hit those rocks. It gets scarier as the season drags on.

Glad you skied. You were the entertainment for the day I'll bet!
Definitely a tip of the hat to you for carrying skis up Aasgard and out Snow Lake - that's a long haul. The core is a special place and trying to take in the scenery is like drinking water out of a fire hose, isn't it? I had to chuckle when I saw your last photo - the one of  Prusik Peak. Everyone takes the same photo not only because it's a beautful spot but because they are stanking around waiting for their hiking partners to use the toilet  ;D
Nice job.  How far is the walk?

BTW August 6 was the 71st anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, and today marks the Nagasaki date.
Thanks for the report, runcle. 800' of cold suncups. Best skiing reported in August so far!
Inspiration.........moved me brightly. Dude, you rock!!!!!
Silas, way to go, I quietly hope that I may someday get that done.  Thanks for keeping the carrot dangling where I can see it!
Nice work! Awesome that you've been a part of the exploration of the caves too. I'd be interested to hear how the route was when you hit it and if it looked like there will be much change over the coming weeks. Planning on that route Aug 13 & 14, any beta would be greatly helpful!
Way to go and TELE NO LESS! (I do care..).

Great write-up and pics too...thanks

Congrats, Silas.  Not only have you climbed all 50 of Washington's highest peaks, now you've completed a "Lou Dawson" and skied all of Washington's 14ers!

Mike:  Lets do some aerial photography of your engineering projects, so you get to ride in a Bell 206 - the helicopter you saw on the road.  ;)

What! That sounds awesome!
Great pics! Thanks for the report. Nice work.
About time, Silas. I thought you said you weren't going to ski anymore in July . . .

johnyutah can you post a photo with your route drawn on it?
Good timing, we arrived at Schriebers Meadows on Saturday around 3PM and it was raining and cloudy. I can hardly believe your pics, what a difference few hours make. It was a bit more festive on Sunday, there were 6 skiers on Squak and 2 on Coleman Deming. Happy skiing.

Congrats! Any pictures anywhere? Were you able to skin up all the way Silas?

Is that Mike on the Misery Whip!? Way to Buck! In Highschool, we did that for PE Class! and thank you for the trail maint...most appreciated!
Most excellent! Glad you finally got er done. Congrats to both of you.
Way to keep the steak alive Mack  ;)

No, it was closer to a month ago. They skied central Mowich, and there was also a group skiing Edmunds around the same time (RMI guides on that one).

I'd sure like to visit that side some time!

Sicky-sick sick.
At least the 2nd central Mowich descent of the year---a good season!

We could make out three old tracks on the glacier below the face and thought they must have been a week old or so. ?? Is this the group you know of? did they ski the mowich or edmunds or both or just low?
