Nice! Way to perservere and make it after 2 other tries! Looks like a good time!
Next time I think we'll find something with less trees! I don't mind them so much on the way down but it made getting up challenging for us :).
Manaslus performed pretty well. Snow was a little heavy for them/me though.
From where we turned around, we could catch glimpses of something to the east/looker's right but it was pretty forested and looked like 400' vertical. With the poor visibility we didn't feel like exploring though and opted for beer...

Very nice. Welcome to the sport.
Kendall Stump has of course slowly gotten thicker with christmas trees through the years, but it can still serve up some nice quick fun as long as you find those openings. It looks like you guys got to what I've always assumed was the top of "the stump" but you can of course keep trucking up wooded ridge toward Kendall from there.
Looks like good beer at the bumper. How do you like the Manaslus? I found that they handled the...

Great pictures. Curious, are coreupt skis pretty popular there? I see two pairs in that last picture...I've been happy with mine.

I'm liking the TR variety you've got going on. Nice work.
I'll second that! Great find, Spectacular. Well done!
Nice job! Seems like that place holds good snow...
rlsg: it's on the east side of the Cascades, near Lake Wenatchee, north of highway 2.

GREAT TR!! However, where does does this take place (isolated hick from Oregon)?

Right on guys. Wish I could'a joined, but Canada was bluebird, so I got my due. I still want to get up in there though. Count me in for the next adventure!
Way to get it done. Bet it felt good after 2 other tries.

That is so rad, and finally answers my question as to what the rad line to access via the plowed White RR in the winter is. The Napeequa is one of my favorite places in the cascades. The E/NE facing bowls on the other side of the ridge look SOoo good. I need a snowmobile...

Great TR! I hope to advance from taxi driver to couloir ripper someday... ;)
Scott, you are dead to me...
Kidding! Nice decent you guys. As the saying goes, "There are no friends on a stable weather forecast in Washington."

as one of the cards lost in the shuffle, and my nose deep in the beta, I'm up for it whenever the conditions are again as ripe as they were. Just let me know John...

To be honest this whole TR is just ryanl bait. Miss ya buddy.
wish i could join you but.... (fill in the blank). As it is, I'll look forward to your return. you are coming back, right?
Fantastic. I will be at my cabin there for 2 weeks starting on the 27th. I have actually been secretly hoping for spring though, as we have been skiing, here in the NW, in the cold, the rain, and the snow, all winter now. After all it is spring now, and there is nothing like a good corn harvest in Tahoe. It will still be fantastic skiing with my Tahoe buddies no matter what the conditions.

I should have dropped you a line Runcle, I went searching for Seuss yesterday as well. I was apparently too far south of you to find the land of make believe but I did see some traces:

Those look like some pretty big cornices you got going up there Gary. I hope to make a trip out to see you and Jan before they let loose. Maybe we could coax one or two loose. ;D
Great pics Jay. I wish I could have joined you but as you know my strong pariotism prevents me from gracing Canada with my superior American form (or until I get a passport)
Did you guys road-trip the Prius?

That looks like a good choice of terrain fellas. Thanks for sharing the photos Scott.
Congrats on the sponsorship deal Kyle. Maybe I'll jump on a treadmill so that we can chase down something remote this spring.

Wow, you're living my dream...
My, oh my, that is the air that should be there
A forgotten land of rime and sunshine?
In that case, of course
you'll head straight out of town.
It's opener there
in the wide open Air.

Thanks for the report. I plan on spending the 2nd week in May on Shasta. Let it snow let it snow let it snow!!!
That's a good sized cornice, glad to hear that nobody was hurt!
Click here to see another, smaller cornice release from the same day (Crystal backcountry).

Sweet! I love Tam McArthur and the huts! Stability has been sketch this year, but finding plenty of safe powder in there hasn't been too much of a problem. The area and scenery are second to none for central Oregon. Glad you had a good time!
sorry for the low quality pics, but I ran out of patience editing copies down to the measly 260kb size limit.
more pics, for some reason they wouldn't go with the OP
Good one....Nice job....Guys! Classic way to see the mountains!
Funny how I introduced Jake to Ziff have not had a call since....I guess being from BC I did not make the cut....

Nice.
Were you the group heading out of Yodelin ~9? We were starting up at about the same time. I was wondering where you were headed...
Yodelin wasn't great. Backside towards Mill Creek was very nice. We had a couple people out for their very first tour so we didn't do many laps.
To more winter!
Hi trees4me,
...
Move it to NWhikers dude. That kind of lawlessness is likely to get you an a** whooping. However, nice work guys. ;D
Your pictures and report are stellar. Sounded, and looked, like quite a fulfilling trip.
Rally Ziff!
Sweet report, nicely done all.

Thanks for the TR and guidebook info. I passed by those on the way to Silver Star last month, looking for and not seeing any tracks, and was wondering about the opportunities and access. Neat area.
Nice.
