Not quite a full year, just have to rustle up October turns somewhere, shouldn't  be too too difficult. Thanks for thinking about me!  ;D
Skied Paradise on Sat (15th).  Started at 9,000 due to no snow on edge of Anvil Rock.  Suncups minimal close to rocks.  At 8,500 crevasses started opening up with quite a few "glide tracks" showing up in many different directions- be careful.  Had to do a few carries after last steep section before Edith.  Not bad for Sept turns, but would be nice to see snow soon and longer run.  Total vertical descent around 3,000ft.
Way to go ShailCaesar. The big semis in the parking lot are full of salt that the groomers spread out over the "Miracle Mile". Thats why its usually so slushy. It can get very icy just outside of the ski area boundaries and there are many small hidden holes in the snow north and east of Timberline, especially this time of year. Nice work though on the full year, thats real cool.
Yeah I meant to do ZigZag but became ill and barely made it to the top of the Palmer, I made it though and had a great ski. I posted this for the exercise mostly.
- not quite b/c; as the snowfield is machine tilled with 'salt' to keep it from ablation
Thanks so much for the link.  As Mack said above, we talked about Bob and memories of fun trips out to the Sholes and other destinations.  And I really did wear the garish Hawaii shorts in his memory.
Very cool. Telemon was one of the first people I met when I moved to WA and died two or three days after I met him. Even though I only met him briefly, his enthusiasm was contagious as he heartily welcomed me to WA and encouraged me to find ski partners through TAY.

Its heartening to see that his friends continue to remember him fondly
Awesome tribute Nick, thanks for sharing it.  Share the details next year for sure.
We're going to make it an annual event and I'll post the details on TAY next year.  Keep that shirt handy RK  :). It was truly deja vu seeing Bob's son in his old red parka and helmet skiing down knee to ski  8)
Thanks, Nick, that  was a good trip you guys did in Bob's honor.  I was up on Baker a couple of months ago, thinking of Telemon.  I  would love to hear about the next Double Pole Plant Memorial Ski.  I won't wash my Hawaiian shirt till then...
Cheers!
Don
Excellent.  We were talking about Telemon when we went to the Sholes on Sept. 3, and James wore a pair of loud colorful shorts in his memory.  Bob used to hit Ptarmigan Ridge once or more in the fall.  Every time I see a tele skier drop the knee I yell, "Get DOWN!" the way he used to.
Thanks Marcus! Any chance you can email me how you did that? I'd like to be prepared for next year (month).
Here's a link to the rest of the set.

And another pic -- good condition for September!

It must feel nice to be back on the snow post-injury!  All three of those pictures are just gorgeous.
Managed to finally attach something w/jpg from Flickr, but it doesn't create a link to see other pics?! I'll email you the link to the set Marcus.
To be fair, the weather wasn't exactly great.  It was cloudy at the start, but that improved to partly cloudy when we were going up the climber's trail (with some beautiful views of the mountain, some direct sunlight even!).  After lunch, we had foggy, misty, slightly rainy, and finally just overcast, but we kept chasing the cloud layer up slightly higher and higher until we reached the ridge.

I can post some pictures a bit later.  It was no "48 days of sun" weathe...
Well, hell. I thought for sure the weather would be all socked in on Baker on the 9th so I went back to bed and did something closer to home (where the weather WAS pretty bad). Wrong call. Get any pix?
That first picture makes me wish I was sitting at the top of the Palmer right now......nice shot...
- some gnarly lookin blank at the top.  looks like great turns below *
Yeah the parking guy said it was ok, they would prefer if you parked against the back wall. People were having full scale loud music parties! Saturday and all. I tucked myself behind a parked trailer in the overflow lot and found some peace. Great conditions, TR to come!

Whoever said "You're already going... you may as well bring your skis" on this forum - thanks for the advice.  After we hit the road closure and had to pick a new option, I had to use your line to help convince at least one friend to bring her skis  ;)

Not sure who was the first to make the coment in a post...
But surely

Tested this patch out today. Considering where it is and all, it is sizable! Only slight evidence of your passage remained.

Warning to anyone going up there - that is some of the most unstable spooky talus I've ever messed with, just to the N of the patch. Is directly under where that one part of the mountain cut loose a year or two ago. Sharp edges, lots of loose rubble, blocks of half ton or more routinely shifting when stepped upon.

Not so sizable was the patch I fo...
Very nice Bobby & friends.  Love the ski samurai clip.
Wow - great video - editing and skiing skillz abound
Groovy, I hope to see you up there sometime.
Thanks, I like the video. And to reciprocate, Bobby Ocean, meet Billy Ocean
Mack,

The exact location is given to you in the post. Seek, and you shall find...
Nice job guys!
Great shots! Congrats on the 60 months!
Thanks for the inspiring trip report telemack. I made a trip to the sholes on Friday and got some fun snowboard turns in. It was my first ever September trip and the snow was a bit icy coming off the portals this day. Only a couple more months to go

P.S.  I also saw my first mountain goats!
Hey, way to get September turns!  Any hints on your location, or have you been sworn to secrecy?
You took that shot from the pilot's seat didn't you?  Sweet shot and nice work with the photo emhancements.  Looks like a great ski.
Nice work.  I was up around NPWA and Rainier was looking pretty fantastic...I couldn't see the dirt from that far away.  ;)
Those suncups look like double d's at least!
Excellent video DOD.  Way to rock the bare chest, Silas!
Car camp respectfully in the back of the Timberline lot or at empty sno-parks on rt. 26 or 35.  Sno-parks often have toilets.
Don't know about car camping at T-line having never done it, but would think there are a few places in Govy that you could easily make work.....
Video of the day here:
I think i got the appropriate music for this one!

Sold! I'm driving down tonight. If I get there at two in the morning, would I be able to car camp in the parking lot? Or is it gated off? If so do you know of any car camping options around there? I have a northwest forest pass. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
Skied it on Monday, doesn't go below Mississippi Head, stops a few hundred feet above.  Little Zigzag is washed out, Zigzag is ok, Palmer after all that was sweet!  Probably about 1700 on the Zigzag right now....
What do you suppose the conditions/run length would be over on zig zag now..would it go down below Mississippi Head?
It was Zap who taught me to use harscheizen (sp?) to crank our way up gnarly soft suncups  8)

I think I remember it being 8-1/2 hours, but that was with all the loop-de-loops.  Iluka's TR said they took 2-1/4 hours to get to the Sholes.

Mack distracted me so I didn't know the speed limit had changed from 70 to 60.  :'(

Hm...
