From the Wenatchee Ranger District's trail conditions page:

Ingalls Ck. Trail #1215 Between Beverly-Turnpike Trail #1391 & Stuart Pass suffered heavy damage from flash flooding during August and is washed out or buried under debris in many locations.  The route is still passable on foot, although cautious route finding will be required through several sec...
I'd try crystal lake now if it's open yet, if not I'd be up for a thru hike from Stuart lake trailhead to snow creek. Monday or Tuesday would work for me this week. I'm not fast but I seldom stumble.
Solid work! I'm glad you got out to enjoy that side of the mountain. The longer trek is a worthy price to pay for so few people  :)
Thanks for the timely report - amazing!  Just what I needed on this hot September Saturday.  Love the video.

From Crystal Creek Fred Beckey says that there is a good cross country route up to Crystal Lake and the Enchantments. Bonus is you could camp outside the boundary and be in compliance without a lottery ticket. I haven't done this yet but I will. I would be doing it this year, but the area is still closed because of the fire. A "good" Beckey cross country route might be like som...

We went back up and around the south side.... we looked for a way down the northside, but it looked really steep and loose.

There is a feasible route more or less directly from Reflection Lakes -- however the NPS really discourages off trail travel.  With the volume of folks that visit the area, it's all to easy to start a new "social trail"  --...

That snow bridge way down is spooky
Nice write up.  I love going here in August and September...sometimes October due to how quick you can get up there and it's a chill/fun few hour adventure.  Did you hike out from below the 'glacier' or go back up and around to the pass?  I had been looking for the trail out through the bottom for a few trips and finally was forced onto in August during a lighting/thunder storm.  Cuts off about 40 minutes of hiking back up and around as you can just hike straig...
Great report, what a killer way to get September.  I think I'm going to have to rip off this idea and pay my own first-ever visit to Pinnacle Glacier soon.  Thanks for posting!
Glad to help, ron j! You can see our turns and boot track in that picture pretty well!
Looking strong... and very white, ronj. Yeah!!
I don't live in N. Central WA, but I'm fond of the area. I spent a night out under the stars with a friend back in early July when the temps spiked for the first time on the west side. We made it as far up as Crystal Creek before slogging back to a very nice campsite right along Ingalls Creek at the bottom of a boulder field which refreshing cold air was blowing out from.

The Stuart Range and Teananways are incredible but with the access being primarily from the eastern side...
It was right kind of you guys to carve off all the sun cups on Saturday.
The corn skied quite nicely on Sunday.
Thanks !!  ;D

he looks nuts, silas. probably do alright here with you though.
Wow,
You guys hit a jackpot with that fresh!
My cabin is one mile from the trailhead. I fish/run that trail all the time, but usually stop running when it gets hot because of the snakes. Since snakes swim well, I'm afraid they got away and will return soon. The ski will be great when it happens...this year or the next. I'll put the call out when the storm comes. Do you live in NCW Pipedream, or were you just hiking there?
I camped right along Ingalls Creek in early July where the fire tore through the valley. I'd assume the fire took care of the growing rattlesnake population in that area...
The places Mike skis in the summer most people struggle to carry the shirt on their back.

Nice. Do you use this rig for everything, or just spring/summer?

Jake, I only use this set-up in the summer when I have to carry my boots and skis on my back for a lengthy trail approach.  If I can skin, I step up in skiabilty to burlier boots and skis.
One more shot of the good stuff:

What kind of boots are those?

Kyle they are Scarpa Aliens.  The less expensive version.  About 4 pound for the pair.
Looks great!

Looks like good stuff Mike. I know well the amount of work getting to that spot and back in a day. You must get up early and get back late. I'm hoping to get up there again in the next few weeks. Time spent in The Enchantments is not subtracted from your life.
The Pinnacle Glacier is a great spot for fun summer turns and cooling plunges in the pond:  http://www.turns-all-year.com/goldhome3/hp141/

Unfortunately the "Slush Cup" became a victim of it's growing popularity -- I believe the NPS discouraged future events at some point...

The Glacier and the View

Looks like a great place to spend a day.  Makes me think of lining up lawn chairs at the bottom and cheering each other on for runs.  Good job with the creativity.  That would be a sweet camp spot!
Yeah, that would be pretty bad time  for a designed-in-usa made-in-china core fail. ;)

Crossing a small crevasse

That would have been an inopportune time for a made-in-china corefail.
Sorry for the multiple posts, I am having trouble uploading pictures.

Nice tour; thanks for sharing it.
Forgot to check TAY after that trip... nice meeting up you on the trail Mike.  We watched you ski down from Dragontail before we went up Witches :)
NoPostholio got banned - but Chieftaffy saw him and his entourage. Forgot to ask what happened in SA Silas?
look for my buddy nopostholio.

How do streakers do it?  They just drop everything and go.

In more ways than one ;)
Silas, Tom's streak is most impressive, I don't think I could be so dedicated/obsessed but it is one heck of an effort.

way to get in september before school starts!
Cool Scenery.  Looks like a solo mission.  I should call!
Where are the inspiring photos of you and your high country companions? You know, the ones where you are "just friends..."
Nice Don - good to get some Kwasnowski time now that he's home.
We got back to the car just before the rain started, Don.
Worst Hail storm I've seen on the mountain in 20 years of going to Mt Rainier... a real gullywasher.

Missed getting hit by a boulder careening down the washout coming down Ricksecker grade by microseconds.
