But without splitboarding technology and hardware then backcountry monoskiing would not be possible today...

Thanks’ Andrew for taking the time to explain the mechanics of deep powder formation. After supplementing my copy of “The Secret Powder Stashes of White Pass” with the unabridged edition I’ll give it another try.
