Oh, that was a funny read, and close to the truth. I snowboard occasionally but yea, it's most fun when there is powder within an easy ride of the chair. And that usually gets skied out pretty quick. Certainly why I prefer the BC. And because it avoids the fleet of under-skilled boarders going down the steeps in formation sideways, plowing all the goods like WSDOT going up the pass.
Make a turn already!!

LMAO! I go to White Pass mall to ski with the grandkids on the weekend (and avoid crowds at Paradise when it is open) and, now, when Paradise is closed and its raining below 3500 ft asl; at least mid-week it is mostly us old farts and skiing can be quite fun and convivial. We skied 2-3 foot deep untracked powder off piste Tuesday with 2 couples we met at High Camp lodge, very nice (I usually do not ski in groups). I had my S7s and my wife had a ball on her new Moment Pikas (141-111-129) [/img]
I think together they are bigger than any snowboard she would use LOL

this lady is an ignoramus, she should go back to snowblades or the monoski.
if you pick up any copy of transworld snowboarding or snowboarder magazine you guys will quickly see that snowboarding is focused on freestyle and tricks, not efficiency or getting around a ski resort easily. being able to turn toe and heel on groomers has barely begun to sctratch the surface of snowboarding. turning just gets you to your obstacle. in fact, i doubt you will see any pictures in those magazines that is taken on a groomer at a resort.
snowboarders do not really care if they have to unstrap, its that few seconds of urban rail or 360 of a quick hit cliff that people like. most "backcountry" snowboarding that happens (not on a splitboard) is in very easy access spots right off the road and they set a quick bootpack to the jump or cliff.
the ones flailing around at the ski resort are not really snowboarders...just people with snowboards on their feet...
watch some videos of park laps at mammoth mountain or northstar, or watch the people jibbing at summit at snoqualmie, that is a better representation of what snowboarding is.
splitboarding is a different beast altogether, and equipment is gonna be just as good as AT equipment in a few years. more splitters are using hardboots, tlt-5's are better for snowboarding rather than skiing in my opinion, and when longer radius sidecut boards replace these short radius boards we will sidehilling with the best of them. probably better since we have one strait edge!
i do wish they wouldnt do this, just cause you can go down it all the way heel edge doesnt mean your riding it!!!
