I think I got the hint of something along the lines of some grooming having been done? Looks like I know where I am headed tomorrow to make some turns. lol
1000 feet of race-ready hard packed snow sounds like a blast!

As of yesterday, I figure there is one to two more days of continuous snow on the main run. Distance from continuous snow to the parking consisted of a walk of about 250 meters.

Well! Black Diamond decided to change their glue formula! That may explain why my skins began to fail only after two trips and perhaps deposited glue on my bases which made for some hideou...
I bet those people towards the bottom must have been "Wow, look at that skier coming down!"
Nice air!
I think the amount of people this weekend at the area is only a prelude to what will happen on powder days this year. With Mt. Baker ski area opening this Thursday, I can bet first tracks on th...
I think it would be pointless to start another thread about the same area on the same day. I hope you don't mind me posting what the conditions were from my point of view. The snow wa...

It sure would be nice if they never ran the lifts I really don't care much for lift served skiing on big snow days. Powder gets tracked out in less than an hour's time. Hen...

I skied from the top of White Salmon in early July of 2012, and I do not recall it being too steep, maybe 35 - 40 degrees towards the top. As for the schrund, we were able to easily go around it...
Your group must have been that large group I past at around the 8,500 foot level. Visibility turned out much better than I was anticipating.
