Absolutely beautiful camera work and editing, strong work all around!
Was wondering what sort of trouble you'd chosen for yourself this year Crispin! Stoke definitely felt.

How was the traverse back to the car? Last time I skied the chutes we overshot our traverse point and had to hike 500ft through slide alder.

Adams locals like to ski as far down Morrison Creek as there is snow, then hike the open timber to the campground.  Of course that requires a car shuttle, or hitch hiking back up to Cold Springs parking.

Heading down for a summit/SW chutes attempt on Wednesday. Thanks for the awesome TR. Laughed out loud at the "carnage" caption.

Nice Work Gentlemen!

Would I could have been with ye… great adventure!  Keep me on the list for your crazy long adventures.

And I see a set of TX pros, another tele skier?
I enjoyed seeing the photos on hipstergram, looks like some good corn!
Well done.  Thanks for posting the beta and stoke!  We've had a good spring/summer so far.
Sweet story!  Awesome area.  I had that same experience on backbone ridge last year.  Stressful indeed.  I could feel your excitement when the clouds lifted… nothing like it.  I'm jealous of the views you got off of Isolation which I have yet to enjoy as our whiteout took us through the neve glacier.

I like the Sahale Summit variation.

Thanks for sharing.
Nice TR, too bad que car closed, I might have been reduced to tears were I in that position.
The tree well picture nearly made me spit my coffee in to the keyboard!
Nice job you guys! I was super bummed to miss this one -- life doesn't get much better than a comfy camping mission on a mild Rainier evening.

Stoked for your ankle and your spandex, Kam!
Thanks for the comments. Yes, seeing the clouds lift that last day was the highlight of the trip. In fact, I have a photo of the exact moment it happened. JackB got so excited, he somehow managed to  lose his balance and fall backward into a tree well. I made sure to snap a photo before helping him out. That's what partners are for.

cool duel season pics
Nice write-up and pics.

Two years ago in July, over a three day stretch, while climbing Clark I kept asking myself, "who in their right mind would drag their skis this far into the Cascades...?"

Now, I know.  ;D
nice first post as well as the trip.

Thanks for the TR, very inspiring, esp. working through the weather. Goodunonya!
Thanks Jake
Nice shot, I wish it looked like that yesterday. I felt like I was blundering around in the dark. Still not sure what line I took.

Here is a picture I had from last year:
Yeah baby!  a fellow Rampart loon. Love it!

Here's a pic of the slopes above Lake Lillian looking north, taken about march(ish).
Good effort in crummy weather.
Excellent!

Truly one of the best short ski videos I've ever seen.

Really liked its capture of the experience sans the look-at-me vibe.
This is what the "kids" found;

Great trip, plenty of challenge, must be a great feeling to overcome them and finish such a big project. Nice pictures too, thanks.
My $$'s on number 4, what a great black & white
Great story. Persevering through the bad weather to see it all clear out must have been awesome. A great climax to the trip.
Great photos.  The last photo with Foss and Rainier. ;)
Awesome viddy - nice usage of drone? footage.
WOW-What a journey--very inspiring and impressive (great write-up and pics too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Thanks for the report, my daughter lives there (Japan) and we have skied on Hokkaido, and tried to make something work on  Fuji, but train and bus logistics defeated us.  What a great ski, glad you posted a report. thanks
So good it makes my feet hurt! Backbone by brail must have been interesting. Love the shot from top of Isolation Pk with valley fog below ski boot level. Great trip!
Awesome.  Especially the detail of the cow manure smell.  Shouldn't this site support scratch-n-sniff trip reports?
Thanks for sharing..... I spotted Mt Fuji from the bus 10 or so days earlier on our way to the Japanese Alps. We Figured if we get lucky enough we could get a Mt Fuji weather window... before we flew back home. Fun spot to get month 93 turns all year.
Nice TR of the conditions to the Chute, the Chute skiing and the exit out. ;)
Well done gentlemen, that looks like a grand outing! Beautiful photos Crispin - the first shot is $

Mystery of the day: observed party of 8 just finished crossing Nisqually Glacier and heading up the Wilson ramp - at 7:30 PM. How was that going to work? At least 2 probably 3 more hours to a safe camp on ridge from there, and not that much daylight. And even when there - what then? Would just have to get up predawn and climb more, just 4 hours later. See...
It's true John, wuss is exactly right word!
Great photo of S from an infrequently visited (at least during ski season), high vantage point. 'Love the sun-lit summit ridge & shadow line falling down the upper glacier. The hills have definitely shed their late winter coats since your Buckner-ing (nice trip & photos, btw). All we had yesterday was sun.
yeah well played C, looks like you hit the window just right!

here's what the local Hurry-up / S Gl environs looked like only 1.5 weeks prior:

Enjoyable write--up and pics!  Thanks!
Whoa!! Hold on now!  You didn't J-Tack your skis up to Boulder Pass, but rather stooped to strapping them to your pack like a wuss?!  Jamie....

That aside, awesome trip!  I would almost be jealous if I had even an inkling to ski still.

It was pretty heavenly over on next door neighbor Mt. Ruth also. Very few others had been there recently, just a couple other tracks on the ridge side (and maybe half dozen into the basin that eventually leads to the Dogleg.) It was great almost-corn from the top and well into the slopes above Glacier Basin. Only perhaps last 500 vertical got the hint of sticky. One of the best snow condition...
Thanks for the great write-up, Jamie.  That was a special trip.  Skiing was great, views were incredible, and the company was top shelf.  The pace was pretty good too!
Looks fruity...!
Is that 1st photo the n/w face of Mixup or Magic Mountain (or neither.. ha)?
