Top knackers. I reckon #3: the sideways-slider with the brakes on is the $$ shot.
Great report.

I think this might be a better $$ shot
Thanks - I love the contrast of sunny granite and a healthy snowpack.
'pack looks pretty solid. nice work!
Nice shots Radka! The clouds did provide some moody lighting throughout the day.

the timelapse has roughly 825 frames... assembled at 15fps... was surprised it isn't choppier at the low frame rate...24 or 30 fps is more typical.

I'm sounding like a worn out mp3 (record in my case...) however you were pretty close...

i'm still not sure, although general snow conditions in the crater were definitely worse than on wy'east, newton, and what i've heard of cooper spur. i think there was a trip report on this forum a week or two ago from someone who was going to climb leuthold,...
Here are a few pics from our camera:

What kind of minimalist ski setup were you on?

Hah. A minute of searching tells me it must be this guy.
There truly is no such thing as "free" gear.

Ho, Ho, Ho!
You shoot a great photo, it's refreshing to see lots of yellow in ski photos,

Must be tough to know that generations of outdoor enthusiasts have done similar things without making a BFD out of it...

Sorry to hear your Sr.Sitters were male this trip.  Always inspirational seeing the company you keep.  Sounds like the perfect time to be skiing Adams south shoulder.
Awesome!  Looks like a great day trip to a place that should have a full day approach.  Thanks for the post.
Wow.  Love it.  You guys are inspiring.
Love the time-lapse. I enjoy making those. How many shots is that one?
Very nice aurora capture!  Great meeting you all on the mountain.

Inspiring - thanks for the stoke! Really need to get my bike outfitted for this asap!
I'm sure others who actually went up the Easton can confirm my guess here, but I'd think that way would have snowcover the whole way. We veered off onto the Scott paul trail once at the TH. As of last weekend you could park about a 10 minute walk from the TH. The Easton approach, from what I understand, is more in the open and has a deeper snowpack than the trail that switches up through the woods.

I use a Canon 60D. It has built-in timelapse function if you hack the firmwar...
What a gorgeous aurora! I really enjoyed your timelapse, too. Thank you for reminding me to watch out for the elusive auroras in the night sky and to experiment with timelapses.

It was really nice to meet you all on the mountain! I will post some pics later tonight.
How far do you have to hike to reach snow and start skinning for the easton glacier route?

Thanks!

love the time lapse photo
Wow, excellent time lapse! What camera were you using? Does it have a time lapse function built in or did you use an attachment? Fresh battery?

For future reference, here's a link to the new thread.

And here are links to my trip report commemorating the 75th anniversary of the first traverse in May 1939:

Any idea how Leuthold"s might be?  Thanks for the tr...it is another one of the cool spots on the hood.
Strong work & great attitude, congrats!
I was originally wanting to do Furher Finger this weekend, but I could not find a partner for something that large. So, I sent out a few feelers for doing Baker car2car.  Danny could only go Sunday so I pinged Jake and we locked in on Sunday. A day later, Loren asked me if I wanted to go up Saturday to Baker, so having already plans for being up there, I agreed and the thought of a 2x car2car came up.

Saturday morning around 3am, Loren and I left Issaquah, met up at the trail hea...

Yep - Peter was enjoying the ride, hooting and hollering.

Great report.
Good to intersect with you and David, Kenji. BTW, nice hands forward form David in those shots!

If one had the energy to haul overnight packs in, there could be some fun fixed base skiing up there now.

Thanks to the BoeAlps folks for putting those steps in the headwall just in front of me. Pace adjusted to allow the job to be completed. ;)
Some of the best snow I have had in a while. Thanks for talking me into it Pavel.
Yay ski mowtentouring!

We wondered if the traverse track was by a goat chasing some skiers...

No goats sighted, but we certainly were not alone:

Skiing was too good to stop for the Photo Ops

I love this, it's how I feel every powder day! This is how we know who the true skiers are at heart. It's about the turns, not the media.

How was the approach? Did you walk in via Fryingpan creek?

Frying Pan trail is pretty much bare all the way to the last log bridge with some snow patches.  In general, much less snow than usual up until about 5000'.

Those were our tracks on the Savant.  We entered and exited via Owyhigh.  In between  we skied from Banshee saddle and then booted up the adjacent steep face and skied  to the bottom of the glacier.  Your sixth picture is a great shot of our line and the black and white in the link is a nice shot of our tracks.  Great, smooth, steep turns.  From there, back up and over the ridge leading to Tamanos and out.  Picture is from the top of the steep face.  Spectacular day!

Tele down Mon! How's that knee holding up?

It holds up when I get down  ;)
Walking the skis back downhill was a good test too.
Thanks for sharing.

Been staring at this blank white space for minutes trying to put thoughts to words, but words like "epic" and "awesome" don't deliver.  Double victory, totally inspiring, very well done.
Thanks for the stoke!

We just made the trip 6/6-7. Conditions out there are certainly prime. Truly 'hero' corn from 10,000' down to 7,500'. Plus, you can still ski down to ~4700' from the col west of white mountain on the exit if you utilize a short "dry ski" to connect snow fingers leftover from avalanche debris.
Your group must have been that large group I past at around the 8,500 foot level.  Visibility turned out much better than I was anticipating.

Good report. One thing I'd add is that the snow up high was clean, smooth and fast.
