First the bonus pic -- here's what the Muir snowfield looks like as of Wednesday:
Long time since posting¦
We took a mid-week romp up Unicorn, seen here from the Stevens Canyon road.
You can skin after the first 1/4 mile but streams, rock/dirt and willow areas will melt out fast.
Climbed unicorn, took a few laps on the east side ~6500 in smooth slightly heavy but spring goodness.
east facing at 6,500 was smooth:
steep facing southwest was smooth:
but getting cuppy on S lower elevation slopes:
