Skinny skis suck.

I have been looking for a "Short Skis Suck" sticker to put on my 200cm Salomon AK Rockets.  ;)

End of the line and end of story. The best overall ski for real snow conditions, we are not talking about flattened or grooved snow from a machine dragging thing, we are talking snow and skiing. Coomba!
keep it coming Ullr and go out and get the Cooba's, End of Story!

Several people love these skis, but I've never been so sore than after skiing Coombas-every time I ski them-to much work.
I know four recent powder 8 champions looking to unload their newly won Coombas. I have a pair of pretty new 188's with Look PX 18's just waiting for a powder hungry skier. If I get no takers they will be my medicine ball to get in shape, so when the real powder dump hits, my legs will be in shape for my
Salomon AK Rockets-1st generation.
Their not wide, fast as heck, but they are long and stable and blast through the powder and crud with merciless abandon. Turn pretty good in the tight trees.
Everybody has their sweet tool, but I would love to unload those Coombas.

I guess all this thread proves is that size does matter and that some like their skis short and fat and some like them long and thin.
Mine are fat AND long. ;)

Salomon AK Rockets-1st generation.

I've got a door knocker that's around that vintage. ;)

..... and please don't get in any better shape.

A vote for the TeleDaddies (or Janaks) as well, I've had a pair with Fritschis as my only BC setup for the last 4 years and they are a blast in untracked snow, also pretty light for the uphill part. They're stiff though so when things get tracked out (if you ski the resorts) they're not so much fun.

My daughter has Janaks mounted with inbounds bindings, loves them for all sorts of resort skiing, perhaps they work ok for her in the tracked because they may be short for her size.

calling a ski under 95mm a powder ski is like calling a burrito without a tortilla, a burrito

I have to say I love my Janaks in deep powder. For everything else I ski my Kalais. The Janaks are very quick in deep snow and very light with dynafit bindings.
