Can't resist talking about skis.
Have a look at the new Soloman S7's these have rocker, sidecut and fattness. Recent report from a few of my buddies say these rock for pow and the hardpack to get back back to the lift.
Only suitable for resort and sidecountry use though  IMO, too heavy for touring other than a quick sidecountry hit.

If it's not too much of an assumption I think he might mean me?

I skied the (Rissognol) S7 with a demo alpine binding on Saturday at Crystal.

My first time on a reverse camber board. The narrowest skis I own are Mantras moving up through Prophet 100s, Gotomommas, Sanouks and non Rockered 125 mm Big Daddies. 5'8",150lbs, ski style reminiscent of a gibbon falling out of a tree.

These skis were just huge fun, amazingly they're capable of silly speeds on groomers and allow you to carry so much effortless speed in the deep. I'm buying them. Putting Dukes from the Big Daddies (which are now for sale)  on them. Then we're going to bond our relationship at Silverton in 2.5 weeks. (that's a subliminal hint Scottie - I just got a $300 flight down there)

They didn't seem that heavy. Not DPS lightness or anything but nothing like the heft of some of the bigger boards.

Skinny skis suck.

I am 57 winters old and have skied every type of ski from Head Standards Sr#320 to Hart Javelins and every generation of shop talk flack. I have been on the AK fist generation to the Red AK to the Coomba's. End of the line and end of story. The best overall ski for real snow conditions, we are not talking about flattened or grooved snow from a machine dragging thing, we are talking snow and skiing. Coomba!
I ski them at 181 and they are snappy and quick underfoot ( I have Dukes on them) so they are good edge to edge on hard crud and really come alive in any thing over the boot, in fact the deeper the snow the better the ski. I might be onto something here folks, I'll say it again the deeper the snow the better the ski, what the heck are we talking about? sound like tech talk crap.. if you can ski the deep you can ski, make no difference what you are standing on, because the deeper the snow the better the ski.
keep it coming Ullr and go out and get the Cooba's, End of Story!

I do love my coombas, but I love my megawatts much much more. Most fun skis I've even been on, even when it's not super deep. Can be had pretty cheap now, too.
