Volant Spatulas with alpine bindings and a pair of Alpine Trekkers!
You'll be the slowest guy on the tour with these but the downhill, ohhh yea.

Stewie just bought a pair of this year's Kailas and he thinks they rock and they are going really cheap if you search the web. BUT, and others will differ and IMVHO , the Kailas at 88mm is too narrow for a true powder ski and that's the title of your thread. For Cascade powder, I think a ski at least 95mm plus with a big shovel and preferably 105mm plus is the right size for a POWDER ski.

I have Dynafit Mustagh Ata's for spring but another ski that you might be intersted in is the new Dynafit Manasalu. It's brand new and the widest ski Dynafit makes and Lou Dawson's website, Wildsnow has a  good review. It has the combination of width and low weight that seems ideal.

More exotic, you might look at the DPS Wailer 105 or 95. Only available through the web at dps.com. Expensive but very good reviews.

my 2 cents, the list and opinions are endless, but the Kailas seems a common thread.

Yet another vote 4 the Kailas....it may not be a true powder ski to some, but its light so it tours great. It's just fat enough to float almost all the time.*could of been a bit fatter yesterday in 30in*.It's Atomic so it holds an edge like a race ski and its great on ice.I love this ski......black or green

I vote for the Coomba.  Good at everything but tight turns.  I am thining about getting the re-mounted a couple of cm forward to see if that helps.

Mine are mounted +1 and are plenty quick in trees.

I agree, Kailas are a great powder ski and this was the year to ride it. I also love my Havocs in powder but the kailas are softer and plenty quick.

If you're wanting a dedicated powder stick, my two cents is to get something with a waist around 100mm if not wider....at least try something out that wide before you decide on the Kalias :)

I love my older foam-core Verdicts with dynafits for touring and I have Gotamas with Freerides for inbounds/slackcountry...both offer a surfy feeling that I just haven't felt with skis that are narrower.

I've got last years Havocs, and love their weight and response, but I still have to work a little in anything over 1' on any ski 88mm or under. I was considering the Verdicts, but went with a Kilowatt (95mm), hoping for a more versatile width. I havent been disappointed thus far! Bought them long (185, I'm 5'8"), mounted w/Dynafits, and have used them in all conditions.

The Coomba would be a great choice too, especially if you wanted to avoid any sort of twin-tip shape.
