I like the reverence and caution you had on this trip and in the video.

Good work.
Rock solid technique.
Ah, we wondered what happened to you guys (and your dog?). I was actually thinking Pioneer Gulch Trailhead (not Rockpile) would be the best, and it lies essentially at the base of the SW bowl? Glad you guys made it up and down ok! That large wet slide in the W bowl must have been from 1-2 days prior. We skied down to its toe; impressive in size.
Awesome man!! Been really enjoying your videos.
We were one of those few people climbing Diamond Peak with you! We've done it in mid-April three of the last four years, and the snow levels this year were dismal. Last year, we started skinning at about 5,000 feet; this year, we couldn't put skins on until 6,000.

We also started at Corrigan Lake TH this year -- starting at Rockpile TH is way more fun!

Due to the recent loose wet avalanche and lots o' pinwheels in the middle of the SW bowl, we opted to climb...
awesome, and my favorite sigur ros song too.
thanks all, its def my favorite mountain for getting good pow turns in, the Northwest couloir is a must for those looking to get 3 k of 45 degree turns in.

Nice work and great video!  I've always wanted to do a line off of Shuksan.

What camera do you use for your videos?

i have the sony helmet cam and the sony ax6000
I hope that same inch of snow falls at Whistler tomorrow night!
Nice video!  Must have been something to have nice powder like that all the way down the NW Couloir!
Nice work and great video!  I've always wanted to do a line off of Shuksan.

wow!  great video and nice work!
Must have been fun being there the first year.  I imagine you got some first descents!

Our guide Pierre told us they're opening a new lodge next season somewhere east of Revy if I recall correctly.  Smaller groups and more north facing terrain but smaller skiable vertical relief than Icefall.  It's definitely on my radar now.
Thanks Marcus!  Much appreciation to all our great photographers.
Thanks for the video.  That was quite fun to watch from the dry eastern side of the state.
I'll get on it when I'm back from Penticton, Pete.
You guys are brilliant.  So much for high risk punch through isothermal mush.  Way to get after it yet again.
I miss the changing of the lead picture on the site as the seasons roll.  Radka's shot is as beautiful and emblematic of what pulls us to go as a picture can be.  But let's bring back the changing lead pic!  It's Spring (forget for a moment the winter we just had) - I nominate that second shot of Mike ripping it for lead pic.

The price for a cookie was to read your fortune aloud followed by "in bed".  A super day.

My fortune:

Here are a few more photos:

Dan tele-hop turning above a narrow and steep spot.

Lowell enjoying the terrain

This is Lowell on our last run making the cooked snow look like it's still firm corn.  Just to the right of him, you can see my tracks where I punch through the surface...
Nice pictures, sure looks like a great trip, Dan, you were dressed for photo success with that red wind shirt!  And that's a great shot of Mike taken through the tight terrain. Thanks.

You should definitely frame that second photograph.  Really nice.

Agreed! Great shot.
You should definitely frame that second photograph.  Really nice.
The adventure was real, the scenery world class, and the company first rate!  I'll try to post pics in a couple of days when I get back from my travels.
Great day Lowell.  Thanks for the S. Peak suggestion.  That was a highlight.  The other highlight was the "meet-up' crew on Fortune Pk. handing out fortune cookies.  The price for a cookie was to read your fortune aloud followed by "in bed".  A super day.  Thanks!
Nice! Went there on a guided trip with Martin Volken the first year they opened.
Nice, thanks for the powder stoke!
I skinned and skied over 3,000' vertical that day. I was way out of the area, by myself,  in avalanche terrain, on a lovely low avalanche danger day. It was backcountry.  I took nice pictures of my tracks, and posted them to the right place.  If I duck under a rope and ski out of bounds and back in then yes - I'd post it under Lift Accessed Skiing. There's a difference.

I think that life is too short to complain about a post from several weeks ago that do...
Yo Tony, I don't agree.  It can't really be skiing unless they walk from home and then ski the tour...

... well maybe not.  The Spearhead and area are regularly listed in this section.
Great photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! We felt the same about the company in Glacier Basin recently
I know of two parties that reached the summit via the Coleman-Deming route yesterday.  Looks like it was pretty good up there!
This sounds fishy to me. I will only believe it when I see it via photo documentation.  :)
Nice shots, Jim!  There may be just enough booting for me w/o fighting crowd...
Yeah, c'mon.  I can't tell you how many times I've been way out on Shuksan and used the lifts to start the tour.  Get over your purist nonsense.
I see nothing wrong with this post.  Yes you do use the lift to start some of these Whistler tours but then you end up going way out first Flute and Oboe then cowboy Ridge and on to Russett Lake Fissile and other locations.  You have to skin a ton.  If there is a lift to start no biggy.  It also gives me an idea on how conditions are in the Whistler BC.
Looking back, I'm guessing it'll be a while before this one is repeated.  Unless sking some of the other nearby un-skied peaks.

It takes about 3 hours driving from Seattle to get to the launch point of the Lady of the Lakes boat/ferry ... then about 2 hours worth of a nice boat trip... followed by appx 1 hour (transfers, loading, etc.) bus trip up dirt / forest service roads to Holden (nice nostalgic type drive...).

Then about 3-5 hours skinning/booting (...

Lift-accessed Skiing Reports: non-backcountry (in-bounds and frontcountry)
Please post backcountry trip reports in the appropriate monthly backcountry board.

Got it that more people read this vs the taking a chair lift up to read real bc skiing posts, but come on!  Post a BC ski trip!  You can do it!
Hello Mr. Red! We came up the N side of the Hwy - is that what you were asking?

Indeed, very memorable skiing! Glad you found the goods, too.

And thank you all!
