Three of us were up there on Saturday and had a blast. On our way down the SW chutes I came across a red dog boot like the one linked below. If your pup is missing one let me know and I can get it to you.

Grateful to get out there with an awesome crew. Here are a couple photos of conditions on the mountain:
What an amazing weekend of weather up on the north side of Adams. A group of us skied NWR around 1 Sat from the pinnacle, then Lava Ridge Sun around 10. You get some good photos? I'd be psyched to see em.
The four others in my party topped Sherman, while I basked like a lizard and took pictures on the rim.

I have to ask, what does your set up look like for these sorts of tours.
My quiver has been getting narrower and narrower and more mindful as I continue to tour.
Looks like great skiing you had!
I don't have anything very special... just used K2 Backups (I think ~90 underfoot? I used them the whole season this year...pretty vers...
Cool, looks like a fun ski down the crater.
Did you summit Sherman.

Nice ski tracks!
I'm sure you had warmer/softer conditions than I did last week, since I started earlier and the day was somewhat cloudy. It's fun to try to figure out the most efficient food/water allocation. I ate a little bit at each of my transition points, which helped I'm sure. I also started skinning right after topping the evergreen band in Eldorado Creek basin. For me, that was probably faster than if I'd been walking.
I tip my hat to the really...

Flute Ridge after it melted out between Tuesday and Friday
Jim-
Love your photos! Especially that last one of Shasta, that captures the whole weekend.
In the "Everest" photo, to the far left there are two tents up on the snow bank. One yellow, one green. That was us!
I thought we were getting a fairly early start when we woke up at 3. I looked up the mountain and the headlamps looked like I-405 through the Renton S-curves!

Nice! I was also thinking it was weird that there haven't been many conditions reports but I think people have just been too busy getting after it. I was up there the weekend before and the weekend after you were there. Snowline is still around 8k as of Sunday, pretty much continuous skiing from Horse Camp on this route. But I'd recommend traversing across the rocks from horse camp, and following the lookers right drainage up avy gulch instead of the normal climbers left route to H...
The final video from our trip, but hopefully just the start of a life of Alaskan adventures!

hey Rob, this is what the coverage looked like at Horse Camp on the 26th... I haven't been paying attention to the weather they've had this week, but it seems like one should still be able to get skis on the snow fairly close to Horse Camp.
the local climbing shop The Fifth Season or Shasta Mountain Guides might be able to give you a more up to...

I too had my sights set on the overcoat glacier and a hidden line in those parts. First attempt last year was via burntboot/middlefork which was cut short by survival mode ice. Second was early this May cut short by animal noise in the middle of the night near the basin of lemah while by myself. Third was the following week via spectacle and across the bench to iceberg and up the col. There was still just enough snow to make the spectacle lake to glacier lake part tolerable but after that it was...
Thanks for the great report Pete. Conditions sound better on Shasta than I had expected. We are heading to Bend tomorrow for both mtn biking and Sisters, but based on your report we may head to Shasta too. Freezing level is high this weekend so Shasta may be the better choice first. Probably a bit more hiking than you had but still not bad-- you think it is still around Horse Camp?
Wonderful Dan! Great photos. Excellent trip.
Pete- I did your same route up Shasta with friends Rick and Evelyn from Salt Lake and their two kids Torey and Hayden. We summited at about 8:30 am on Sunday the 24th. We did not wait for it to soften and it was very firm from Red Banks back down to camp at Helen Lake. The good news was that by the time we packed up our camp it was perfect corn back to Horse Camp. We counted about 70 tents over Saturday night!
We were amazed at what a beautiful skier's mountain Shasta is, and how easy...

Dan - I think my friend and I met your group in the parking lot on Saturday and talked tents. Great skiing up there and nice to meet you!
Thanks for the inspiration and summary of the beauty that is fast and light. Since I don't seem to excel at sedentary meditation, I'm happy to latch onto the term aerobic meditation!
Yup most climbers and skiiers were traversing almost over to the Deming (as of 5/30. There were tracks that looked only a few days old that somehow got over those bridges, but I think they are gone now). I've only been up twice from the Easton / Squak, and each time just booted right up the climber's right side of the headwall... so was surprised that it didn't go. Not too bad route finding from below, but in a whiteout and above, I could imagine it was a bit daunting!
Thanks! We came down the Easton to the spot you are talking about ~500-1000ft from the summit cap(very large snowbridge that had collapsed climbers right?) and kinda knew at that point we were on the wrong route. Looked really sketchy from above. Im guessing there is some way passed that? We couldn't see much in the whiteout. Glad we didn't go down any further either.
Kenji.... It was a lot of skiing! And pretty much type 1 fun skiing the whole time.
Snoholic... It was fun to see your tracks. I saw those and wondered if I might know the people. It would have been fun to meet you. The T storm was fun. We made it to camp just as the rain came and it didn't last too long. Made for some nice lighting.

Sweet pictures of the climb!
I went up the Easton on Saturday (30th) - Glad you guys didn't head any further down it... there's a fairly large crack across the top... maybe not far below where your strava track has you guys traversing. Curious if you saw it?

Nice trip! I was wondering who was camped at Peggys. We did a quick outing to East Peak on Friday. The afternoon T-storm had us sprinting the last few miles of trail back to the car on our return. It must have been a little exciting up there.
Sounds like a lot of skiing in one stretch, well done!!
Put me on your call list next time mike! Cuz I think you're gonna make it then ;D
What Kenji said!
And what a cool mountain. Created for skiing I'm sure.

Thanks for taking the time to document such a life changing trip Ben!

Here's one more, looking up at the crux of the climb. This is taken from the ridge above the Wy'east face. You weave through snow/ice between the cliffs to gain the summit.

Nice trip report! Any pictures of Roman Wall?
Thanks for leading a Mtnr trip! Sounds like a typical July trip, but in June (was 5/31, close enough)
Thanks for the report. It may be time to establish the skier's trail. Hats off to those fishermen! I guess collapsible fishing rods are easier for shwacking than our skis...
Love the pictures and the story. I share a somewhat similar obsession with Chimney's East face rock route. Hope we both tick it off our third times! The pictures from others of Overcoat in good condition up high looks amazing - can't wait until it snows some more :)
Nice pics, looks like fun. The lack of snow is appalling :'(
Lowell that is truly fast travel! That bolder hopping stretch crushes me just thinking about it. I need a dose of that gung ho attitude, nice going.
Oh my! This has been Mikes obsession, but those pictures sure up my itch to get there! Thanks for a great trip, my sore feet should be feeling better tomorrow!
Unfortunately i didn't take many pictures going down, but here is one that shows the kautz icefall. our descent was far left of the 100 foot icefall

Here's a closer up of that finger when we ski'd it a couple years ago. I have a couple even closer photos but not on this computer.
Beautiful. Looks like you had great conditions.

Nice hustle Lowell! Did you happen to get any photos of peaks closer to Cascade Pass, like Johannesburg?
Just this one:
