If you haven't already seen them JibberD, you can find a few photos on my post from the same day. (Table Mountain , Feb.17) Since Telemack didn't take any pictures, I might throw a couple more of my shots onto this post.
ah, thanks, so they are modified MLT4s; doesn't look like those are available anymore and from the discussion it looks like what is need is some kind of locking bellows - flexes in walk mode and not in downhill, perhaps at boot makers of the future will come up with something.
Jim,
This is definitely a very cool 8) ski area, but I really didn't want to bring up the 'S' word again ;)! BTW, there was no "swarming" going on.
Jason, that is the Enchantments: Colchuck, Dragontail, and Little Annapurna. That looks pretty crazy-fun, doesn't it?!

I'd be interested in the glacier peak to white pass section. Love glacier peak!!!
I enjoyed the tr, and if my kid will let me, I would like to go along on a tour of your remaining sections - I usually can swing a long day, and occaisionally an overnighter.

Yeah thanks for skiing with me Paul. Nice to meet you.

The Bean Creek basin looked great in the summer and I was planning to return this spring for some turns.
The big question os how did you get in there as it is quite a hike from the end of the plowed road. Did you use a snowmobile?
I'd be surprised if he didn't use a 'bile for this one, as it's quite a trek in there right now otherwise...
That's the south side of the Enchantments Jason.... Stuart is just off to the left...

Very cool idea Lowell. Keep going!!
Here's what I've done so far and what remains to be done. The segments marked "soon" are the ones that I still need to do. The routes are listed north to south, but I've done the segments in whatever order and direction is most efficient.

Seems like the chunk between Snoqualmie and Steven' Passes should be scenic too.
It'd be great to join you for a stretch, but I'm in Germany until next Fall... maybe then.
As always, your combo of narrative, photos and history make for outstading vicarious living.

Boot,
The couloirs in the background of one of your pictures look good. Do you know what peak that is?
BTW, Thanks for the report. It was nice on the eastside this weekend!!!

Hey Tmack, I love the fact that you're posting now. I like your reports. When we first met a couple years back in Mazama Bowl you described yourself as a "TAY Lurker"
Better to give than receive, it is.
So how about posting a few pics here and there? Maybe you and Scotsman can pool your resources and get a Kodak or something ;D

Mary and Bean Pks are between Iron and Earl Pks, accessed via Bean Crk, N Fork Teanaway.
Your story reminds me of when Ben was alive. At the time we talked about traversing Washington North to south and how we would do it, but since he's gone I lost the vision along with the time. Like you maybe I should just patch it together. Maybe one day I'll get 'er done.
BTW, Fine work on this adventure! Send me an e-mail when you need someone. If I have the time, I'll go.

nice! we recently got a blast of snow/wind, things are pretty sketchy; a couple days ago a skier was caught and swept into a tree up there in the loveland pass area. im in the sangre de cristo area for at least a few days, are you still around?
Was that you we saw while skiing down the road around 4? What a beautiful day!
Wow, that looks like a great day and a beautiful locale! Pete and I looked at the map and can't find it. Where is it and how do you get there? Thanks!
Thanks for the tour Ron - the sunshine provided a pure vitamin D hit and the breakable crust built some character....
No, we didn't make it to Rock Creek Canyon, but I definitely want to explore more--there is so much with relatively easy access. We plan to return next year.
I don't know whether the route we followed was the standard "locals" route, or the low snow alternative. The route described in Moynier follows the summer hiking route up the ridge north of TJ Lake. Although the pic makes it look ok, TJ Bowl proper isn't skiable--there is just enough to...

It was somewhat fluffy but by now the rain has destroyed all but the first 100 feet
Nice job. That area has the best corn in February due to it's SE aspect. On a year like this in Tahoe, the manzanita can be brutal. I have photo of my friend hiking down to the parking area with his skis barely poking above the manzanita.

Think Scott and I met you guys on the ridge? .... We left the ridge a few minutes before, and then skied down to Snow Lake. We skated east across the lake, and then up to Observation Rock (not sure if that's the official name), then the fun began. We thought it would be a straightforward ski down, but with difficult visible conditions due to fog, and no map (we "knew" the way out- ha), we ended up over 2 definite no-fall areas- :'( Yikes.
Great to see your report. You definitely took the shortcut. When Jill and I did it in 2005, we went the looooong way. The snow pack sure looks "light". We plan to drive back from Taos and Santa Fe in mid March along 395 and hopefully a "Fantastic February or Miracle March" will descend upon the Sierra.
Did you go into Rock Creek Canyon ?

the coldest night I've ever spent in a tent was on the shores of Colchuk lake, and that was in the summer....
thanks for a TR from a spot I've never even thought about skiing...
well done.

Thanks for the report. I hope you didn't scare off any of the peope I lined up to go skiing with this morning. Beautiful place out there, but hairy conditions that day. I looked at my pix from Cashmere last year of Colchuck and it is definately a lot more bony this year, especially Aasgard. Well, off to the pass in a few minutes. I hope you are making the most of the storm out East.
Nice post. One of my favorite areas. Looks like you lucked out with some new stuff!

I think Wing Ridge is better for day tours. Access is so easy and you gain the ridge and bowls at around 8K' from the Salt Creek snow park in 2 hours or less.
I'm heading out to the Wallowas this weekend and was looking for more info on day tours while staying in enterprise. I heard about the salt creek snow park, do you have any specific route sugge...
That's a fun one, even better if you add the descent off the summit of Kaleetan. Oh yeah.
Looks like a nice day to be out. We were around Snow Lake last Sat. It was a bit dry before the new snow fell. We toured down to Wildcat Lake, had a nice day.
Hope to ski w/ you soon!

Wow, what a trip!
If you guys are interested in what all you can see from the summit, stop in at the Cle Elum RD office sometime and ask to see the labeled panoramic that I did from Chikamin a few years ago in August. Probably about 300 labeled IDs, the named ones with range, bearing and elevation.

Thanks! I wish I had a picture from over on Kendall.

i was just taking another look at the scurlock photo and that has to be one of the sickest lines ever.

Yeehaw - I've peeked down that sucker in the summer, and I'd say the action shots in your post give a good sense of just how steep that sucker is. Nice job - thanks for sharing.
Oh Yeah, the date of the trip was 2/11/07......woops
Fun skiing w/ you guys again--nice pics Jason! Humorous one of me mustering my cojones for that little drop up top.
I'm sending a couple your way now; you can include them in your report if/as you see fit.

Hopefully, some of the other TAYERS will take you up on your offer to ski now that we can vouch for you as being fairly normal . ;D Actually a damm more normal than Telemack and I. ;)

Definately lots of good stuff over their. I remember a TR of someone skiing one of those left lines in TAY somewhere from a few years back. Volken's traverse may go somewhere over there too, although there are many variations I...

I don't have a map with me right now so wouldn't be to give you the right names. The Breche is pretty far from the Tacul though...
