mixin it up again... i love the variety in your videos (even if this time it was both the geography and conditions that spanned the full range).
nice job on lane... i know you've been eyeing that all season. at this rate we better think up some new objectives fast!

hmm. I wish there was an inconspicuous way to make a first post to figure out how the image-upload thing works.
We did the worm on the 15th (sorry for the late post). We thought there might be a crowd, but there was only one other party, who turned around half way because it was "nuking"- it must've been 50 degrees with just a little breeze. It was that feeling where every sense tells you that it's summer except your eyes. We booted it all the way to the top. There'...

Great trip guys. Alan Kearney, Andy Selters, and a few others did that trip in '87 or so. They raved about it. Always wanted to repeat it.
Good to hear about folks doing the Traverse in the 80s. Rainer Burgdorfer’s book mentions it as a possibility, but I haven’t heard much about it being done lately. Hadley is great summer or early season (October) trip via C...
awesome!

funny thing I was staring at that logging road on a map last week wondering if it was a brilliant or stupid idea... If you need a partner next time shoot me a pm.
Well Done! Way to take advantage of the inversion!
Well done! I've wanted to do that traverse for some time now. I live on Thompson Creek Road and I've always thought it would be great to travel from the Ski Area to my home. I was back at Lasiocarpa on Monday and saw that someone followed my tracks to the summit of Coleman Pinnacle, must have been you.......Good times!

Too bad Dynafit has had so many design/production issues in the last couple years.
So many design/production issues? Didn't you just buy a couple of pair of Dynafit bindings and TLT5P boots? ;)
The insert failures...
Awesome! had made plans to the same trip that weekend but decided to put it off until there was more daylight and better snow. Glad you got to enjoy the solitude and the views.
thanks for the pics.
thanks for the pics.
Yo Jaime, had great skiing yesterday east of Badger Mt, near Duffy Creek and today east of the powerlines on Jump Off ridge. Full depth facets both days. 40-60 cm snow depth, ankle to boot top penetration.
Could you mark an approximation of your route on my map? http://goo.gl/maps/ZPJbg
Awesome trip, that looks beautiful.
I remember Amar had a similar incident a couple years ago and salvaged the trip with Voile straps:

Thanks , I'll check it out.

Just to chime in on the toe rip. I did the same on a pair of dynafit manaslu's that had inserts. Luckily I was about 5 minutes from the TH.

Nice trip. I just read a TR on Wildsnow that involved a dynafit binding ripping out the inserts on a Stoke ski above the Fuhrer Finger this last week. What kind of gear suffered the ripout on your trip?
Dynafit Mustagh Ata. All four toe inserts ripped out simultaneously and completely. Sounds like more than just a coincidence. To be fair, it looks like the...

Awesome.
Had my first thigh deep pow turns of the season out there before the nooksack falls rd gate swings shut. Ski terrain out there is incredible.

Wonderful photos. The wind packed slopes were great to see and not ski. ;)
My place has a view of Jumpoff, Gunn, and Baring. I can't wait to get up there and do some exploring! Thanks for posting.

I absolutely LOVED the video.
PS. Where's "this" Goat mountain at?
Thanks!
It's the large mound between the White River drainage and Fryingpan Creek.
Cool trip - like the shot of the goats shredding the windbuff.
A very, er, "interesting" weekend:

Sounds like a great trip Eric and Chuck. Wish I would have been around for this one. I have often wondered how that route would work. Awesome!
Nice one! Perfect place to go for possibly the last inversion day.
Yeah, Big Bertha is the massive avy path that runs down the west of Crystal Peak. It hits 410 less than one mile south of the Mather Memorial fork.

Great descent on perfect corn all the way down.
Nice job! I always miss out on grabbing some big days during these inversions; that four-letter word "work" keeps getting in the way.

Ooh, and this one!
This is one of the most unique photos of the upper Enchantments I have ever seen! Very Sci-Fi, as if a glowing diamond fell out of space.
Awesome. I'd love to scoop up some copies for future home page photos...

Susan spent a lot more time outside that night making photographs - more and better photos may be on the way.
I love the blue light on the pyramid. Great shot.
Nice trip, Charlie!
Nice trip, Charlie!
Nice tour. The "ridge too far" looks tempting from above but it needs to be real stable cause you always come into this from above with little to no chance to do a good assessment. It does slide often, can go pretty big, and it's "trappy". But I digress a bit here. Did you ski any of the north / north-east facing runs off the wind blown knob & down to the frozen lake back there? Some fun bowls and glades can be had inside a days work there. Not epics or especially lo...
Great report Charlie - sounds like gorgeous weather and sporting travel... Glad you hooked up with Jonah and Anne, they're awesome folks. And South is delicious...

Not sure where I first heard it in an avalanche context, but I didn't invent it. When I did a lot of whitewater kayaking, we referred to getting thrown around violently in a recirculating hydraulic as 'getting chundered'. Seems like a reasonable parallel to the dynamic avalan...
Nope, I was across the valley. I watched two people and a dog put in the track and then drop the South slope on the 13th or 14th.
