That's a great quote. It is from an article called "Skiing America First" by Veida Morrow of Seattle. It turns out that she was describing the descent from Red Mountain to Goldmyer Hot Springs on the Snoqualmie River. I got copy of the article a few years ago from the New England Ski Museum.
