NTN in backcountry

Yesterday, I had one instance of snow packing under one of my bindings. I stomped my foot and the snow popped out. I have had a few different tele-bindings over the years pack with snow on wet snow days. I don't think that NTN is the only binding it happens too. The anti-ice tape on HH's always allowed the snow to squirt out with a good foot stomp. Perhaps the NTN solution is as simple as that too, I just haven't gotten around to taping the rest of my bindings.
I have also found that when the snow is that cohesive, the skiing isn't very good... regardless of binding choice. It's a rare day when I get snow packed in my binding, and says more about the snow that day, than anything specific about NTN or any other binding.
*fun day at alpental yesterday, lots of kitties around, everytime I go out the upper gate and chose an untracked line I get "cliffed out" on the lower mountain. I really have to do a better job of mapping the best sidecountry lines...

I don't agree with that one bit if you have 1st tracks! Guess different strokes.
Sloppy 2nd in those conditions is another story though.

I had regular problems again today with snow buildup in the orange base of the binding, under the springs and the white plastic pieces. It's happened every time I've ridden nmy NTNs, both lift and 2 tours. What the hey!?!? It cakes up, then I can't get the front boot flat on the ski, and at times it actually starts levering the boot out of the binding.
Anyone else have this problem? What did you do?
Someone said to use Voile anti-ice tape. Hopefully it is only a problem in deep wet snow, and real pow or corn will stay where it belongs. >
Blue foam is the best and easiest fix. Cut out a rectangle of foam with a cutout to hook over the brake. It will solve the problem 100%. I've used the Voile anti-ice tape as well, but it doesn't perform anywhere near what the blue foam does. Another solution someone posted was a thin plastic card with a cutout for the brakes. Similar shape to the foam. He had dimensions and everything. I think there's a photo on Ttips somewhere for both these solutions. I'll try to find it.

How thick and what type of density blue foam Mike?
hell, I don't know. What's the thinnest those sleeping pads come? 1/2" might be too thick. 3/8"? I'll find that photo. One thing that surprised me is how durable that stuff is. I thought I'd be replacing them regularly. So far, never.
