Maybe you could get him interested in something else less socially stigmatizing to help take his mind off it?

or just drug him and have LOSER tattooed across his forehead?

my son has taken up telemarking.

I told him that he can barely get down a green groomed run

So he's already perfected the tele technique?

Blame me now will ya for his desire to take skiing to another level. ;)
It's the influence of the of the granola eating, dreadlock growing, bottle cap recycling college that you sent him to. Next he will be getting wool parachute pants and wearing Elmer Fudd hats, with kneecap high gaiters.
When you told me he wanted to telemark, I thought you were sending him to Western State, not Western Washington.

Yea , well since YOU taught him YOU can talk him out of taking his telemarking gear on the heliskiing trip we all have booked because he won't listen to me and YOU can wait while your prodigy tumbles down the run as the heli sits awaiting.
I've told him " NO TELE IN THE HELI" but he ain't listening to me. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

That's the less good/efficient/fast/style over substance/avalanche anchor/smelly/Patchouli stained/home made crochet hat level?

Before you know it he'll be trading his mountain bike for a fixie
