That actually happened to me last year. Guy I tailgated into submission parked next to me and jumped out of the car and started giving me shit. I just ignored him an he was a lot smaller so it wasn't going anywhere. If he was a big guy I was going to lock the car and wait until he'd got bored. Like an avy slope you have to have an escape strategy worked out in advance if you're going to engage in risky behavior.

Chris, I know you're probably joking, but you sound like a total pussy. I had a guy pass me after the tail gaiting behavior you're encouraging while I was speeding, 10 over, on the way to Mission Ridge. I pulled in to park right right next to him AT THE SAME TIME. When he got out I said "nice pass", he looked terrified and acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. People can be such assholes in their cars and such sheep without their armor.

And you must remember that you are completely guilty if a collision occurs when they break check you.

Maybe they are speeding up and slowing down because you have been tailgating them.

Maybe they are at the limit or speeding and have no reason to pull over and let you pass.

You know the drill by now Aaron.

Be civil and respectful, avoid personal attacks - that is the norm here;

If you can't talk to Chris (and he to you) without meeting that bar, don't engage with him. I know you'd both like a more mud-slinging internet experience, but there's plenty of it available elsewhere.

He's probably joking, but the behavior he's encouraging is dangerous, not to mention illegal.

I totally agree with you.  Say it like that from the start, next time.

Instead of calling him names... -rj

I'm not joking at all. If somebody is driving well below the speed limit and causing cars to back up they should either pull over or risk the consequences . Just because they want to go at a certain speed it shouldn't mean the rest of us should. Tailgating is a very useful tool in correcting this " bad " behaviour and "breach of etiquette". Just because it is illegal doesn't mean it isn't morally right. Sure us tailgaters risk collision but the stupid must not be allowed to dominate the earth. The fight against stupidity is never ending and we must not weaken.

BTW as TAY's new Chief Etiquette Officer can I get a badge and epaulets? How about a quasi military uniform like the Surgeon General?
I'd also like handcuffs and a tazer or a cattle prod for the lift lines at Crystal.
Lots of people in the lift lines at Crystal need tazered or a prod due to breaches in etiquette.
