One less thing to worry about when touring.... ..............Thanks Aaron.
I don’t think I have met Aaron but I have met you in the BC a few years ago.

This is the arrognace that causes problems and why people feel entillted to drive along with a stream of cars behind them.
I am driving at the perfect speed, ALL these other people are idiots because they do not recoginze that

LOL.
only at the Mazama Sheep Pen.... lots of room to roam if you show some initiative. But we have been instructed by TAY's equivalent to KIM JONG IL to return to backcountry etiquette that will be uplifting and helpful for "newer folk" so I will comply like the good TAY drone I am although it's getting hard as most topics have been covered and most of it's common sense.
However.
1) In situations ( and this is most prevalent in groups of 3) where one persons declines to ski a certain slope or cross a certain bowl because of concerns over avy conditions or route finding, the others.... even if they don't agree ... must defer to the decliner and abort. You cannot leave somebody to follow their skintrack back alone no matter how safe you rationalize the situation just so you can continue with your goal. I call it the "black bean rule". Nor can the majority peer pressure the decliner into accepting a risk that they are not comfortable with.
2) However, the black bean must be used sparingly and the person who invokes it must explain why. If you use the "black bean" more than once per season .. you probably need to find new partners if they haven't already dropped you from their call list.
