I like skiing untracked snow as much as anyone, but if there are already tracks and I can get freshies on one side and it cliffs out or goes into thick timber I will cross everyones tracks to get more fresh turns on the other side, top, middle or bottom. I never really understood the hard on some people get about admiring their tracks, carry on with your circle jerk.

Oh, I crossed tracks all morning today, my dog's. Nice meadow skipping tour 5 minutes from home.

I feel dirty about it but I think I agree with Aaron. I'm going to have a shower now.

3 skiers on a ridge, touring all day, plenty of lines dropped, avy consitions considerable. Below ridge are two different aspects... but both leading to an exit for the end of tour. One steep and exposed and ganrly... other steep and deep but not gnarly.  Skiers will be out of sight of each other during descent if they split up.
2 want to ski gnarly line, one doesn't?
What happens.

You tell Scotsman to stop wearing a skirt, put on a kilt and make it 3 for the gnar. ;)

If they have the same exit, and different aspects, that sounds like you would be skiing a bowl/basin...giving each party visual at some point during each run, no?

By the time you got to the second or third person, would the steep & deep line have enough good turns left for a third skier?

If you just laid fresh tracks down on the Picketts, Bailey's, Enchantments, Sister's, ect - you would.

No! you are changing the scenario. No visual possible. It's like the Kobayashi Maru Scenario in Star Trek.... Jeez. ::)
You guys need to know more about your Start Trek and think like Vulcans.
You'd never get through Star Fleet Acadamy.

"Captain, I don't know how much more track crossing we can take before we start to break up."
