Ironically, the "gentelmen" you speak of are some of the most present voices in this thread including, I believe, yours truly. While we were gentile about the matters of line selection and sharing the goods, I assure you we were all anything but "gentlemen like" regarding all other mateters that day! HA! Goes to show how important powder is in all matters of health, peace, and harmony. Happy La Nina everyone, be safe and courteous...

I've been mostly ignoring this thread but this post struck me as interesting.

It strikes me that the people who are most concerned about BC etiquette are ones who ski powder the most. Sort of like how the people who make the most money are the ones who complain most about paying taxes.

I ski powder way less than many who post here. During a typical year, I can probably count the number of good powder days I get on one hand (maybe two). Maybe that's why I can't get very excited about powder etiquette. If I'm in the mountains at all, I'm happy.

Yeah, because there are hordes of other skiers waiting to RUIN your ART in those locales. Like those areas, most of the places I tour at around here, myself or my group will be the only skiers for days if not weeks. If someone wants to cross my tracks go for it, they be erased soon anyways.

In my post that you quoted I said we would be the only skiers, not the only users and said nothing about untracked snow. Unfortunately, a lot of the time areas are tracked up by snowmobiles. I expect more from you.

If you are still referring to some of the ranges I listed then the correct response is no, there are not snowmos tracking out the lines.  In that same case, there are definitely not HORDES of skiers waiting to cross your lines.  Actually, I wrote that trying to give some perspective to the idea that if you're far enough out in the bc, you don't need to cross lines.  And the people that I've come across when out that far ski with the same mentality.

If you have to complain about snomos tracking out your powder, then I can help you locate some areas where you won't come across any snowmobiles, let alone skiers.  No point in slamming Scotsman, he was just correctly pointing out inconsistencies in your arguments.

Oh, and tailgate the $-_t out of Scotsman....

You're more than welcome to try but most TAYers drive like they ski... in convoys, slowly and badly while self-congratulating themselves on their civility and imagined superiority while those with better equipement and skills sit frustratingly behind their convoy of rusting 1991 subarus with " baby on board" stickers.

BUT we're not supposed to be talking about driving.

Your right Lowell, most any day in the mountains is a good day.
And I admit that I am a powder snob with no control of the actions of others. Complaining gets me nowhere fast and separates me from the true spirit I share with others in the mountains.
But I have gotten better at letting it go when I see someone skiing down a perfect powder face, but it looks like they are putting in a top to bottom skin track with 15 switchbacks across the whole bowl. Or when everyone takes off at the same time down a potential avy slope. Or when someone skins up a slope where everyone is skiing down it. Or when a boarder blows out a bootpack that took me 40 minutes to stomp in. Or trying to get my grip on a skintrack that has been taken over by bootpackers.
These are all just problems of the rich and should be accepted as such.
Rationalization is the cure to all ails.
So besides feeling my regular Zippity Doodah self I can feel good when I skin over piss and then take my skins off knowing that I'm sharing urine DNA with other like minded travelers.

Bad analogy.

If it was at all like taxes for high income "earners" you'd have to have convinced non skiers that your skiing perfectly mannered powder turns somehow trickled down as a benefit to them.

And then actually do all your skiing offshore anyway.
