OK. Lets make it more difficult.
Same Scenario, 3 skiers, out all day skiing many aspects. Avy danger considerable but everything has been stable all day.
Two aspects leading to exit of tour. Skiers on different aspects will not be in touch or visible to each other.
One is steep and deep, one is not steep and a pretty lame line. One skier declines steep and deep because he doesn't somehow like the look of it or thinks it's dangerous for whatever reason. Explains reasons to other 2 who want to ski it. They disagree with him on steep and deep aspect risk but third skier can't be budged and doesn't want to ski back alone.
What happens?
If a safe way to accommodate the descenter and still ski the line exists, that would be my choice. (ie. watch the descenter ski down safely and then traverse the ridge to the gnar) If no reasonable compromise is available, I would always opt to accompany the black beaner down the lame line.

^^^^^ You are clever... not many would have thought of watching the black beaner descend.

Yeah, because there are hordes of other skiers waiting to RUIN your ART in those locales. Like those areas, most of the places I tour at around here, myself or my group will be the only skiers for days if not weeks. If someone wants to cross my tracks go for it, they be erased soon anyways. If you just laid fresh tracks down on the Picketts, Bailey's, Enchantments, Sister's, ect - you would.

A few months ago you and WMC were whining about snowmobilers tracking out all your powder and demanding equity now you're boasting about expanses of unpopulated untracked powder and how alone it is out there.
Make up your goddamn mind and show some consistency will' ya.
I'd don't think I believe you anymore..... I've lost faith in your veracity Aaron.

Dang you beat me to the punchline!
.
I like skiing untracked snow as much as anyone, but if there are already tracks and I can get freshies on one side and it cliffs out or goes into thick timber I will cross everyones tracks to get more fresh turns on the other side, top, middle or bottom. I never really understood the hard on some people get about admiring their tracks, carry on with your circle jerk.
Oh, I crossed tracks all morning today, my dog's. Nice meadow skipping tour 5 minutes from home.
I realize that like George Bush's plan to find WMD's, everyone could present an unlimited variety of reasonable scenarios for having to cross backcountry ski tracks. So I probably don't need to hear every one of them.
I see the light Aaron and no longer will need to shave my palms. The feeling I have about BC tracks being trashed is probably pretty similar to when you see your stash slope tracked out by snow mows. Is there a difference of feeling? Hmm, probably not.
