Scott  Kingland could ski powder gracefully wearing snowblades.
Unlike most TAYers he knows how to ski.
That's not the point and I agree with you that low density  pow is fairly easy to ski even with skinny assed skis.
However as you point out we live in the PNW.

I am the prophet of phat surrounded surrounded by Philistines .

i've been watching this thread too. I haven't owned anything under a 105 waist for at least 4 years and i was skiing mostly in VT. Frankly I'm appalled that people are suggesting the Baker as a ski for the PNW.

powder 8's are the measure of a good skier? ::) what is this, 1993 aspen extreme?

Actually the very act of recognizing that a buckle is vestigial denotes evidence of evolution thus rendering that person not a philistine as they are not snugly accepting convention.

I agree 110% Sam. That ski is not worthy of it's Salish art, or of the snow at the mtn. of which it is named...

I implore you to attend LBD @ Alpental this year, usually late April. 210+ <65mm. Good times for sure and a step further back than 1993.

The fat skis I have now are fun in pow, but really shine in isothermal mank.
