If I have a hangover, I want 4 buckles. If my arthritic hip is bothering me, I want 4 buckles. That covers most of my ski days, so it's fair to say that I usually want 4 buckles.

But 3 buckles and a lower cuff are great when I'm not hungover and in pain.

I bought 2 buckle T-2s just before they came out with 3.  Then I bought 3 buckle T-1s just before they came out with 4.  I've never even touched a 4 buckle boot.  Damn, I could have been a contender..

I think I'd give up skiing if I had to use a 3-buckle boot.  Cookie, I think your equation puts me at 15+ buckles  (the + is for safety).

In case you want to explore options in choosing a ski check out this in the big size:
www.dpsskis.com/ski/lotus120
In the big size you're still only at 3.9kg for skis, well worth it on the way down.   ;D

I have a pair of the LOtus 120's and the DPS wailer 105's.
Incredible skis, very light AND FAT

Thanks very much for the feedback.   After reviewing all of the above, I'm going with the 3 buckle option.

You shouldn't commit this early, Wingy.  This group is just getting warmed up.  In fact, now they'll probably all start telling you you're not centered or quiet enough or good enough, and you really need the 4 bucks.

According to some of my ski buddies, the answer to needing a 4 buckle or a 3 buckle boot is to spark a bowl at 9000 feet.  Then not only are you more centered, you don't care any more.  ;)

This is probably the most sensible suggestion in this thread.
Are you going to grow some dreads as well Rusty?

I thought the with every tele purchase you got a free pair of bongos and a dread-lock starter kit? Haha, I never tire of tele humor!! :D

BD just released their new Efficient series boot and ski specs, so Wingy, you just may just want to wait on pulling the trigger for those three buckle "green" machines.
