I don't check the board for a few days and come back to find an innocent comment of mine has spawned a lengthy debate. I meant it to be a wholly harmless aside, not an insult to anyone's method of earning their turns. As a relative newcomer to the sport, I couldn't care less how people get out there. Maybe there's some history here that I'm missing, but I wouldn't have expected anyone to talk a little friendly ribbing seriously. I wouldn't mind learning tele someday, but decided to get the hang of the whole backcountry thing on AT skis first since I already knew them. Besides, shouldn't we be focusing on the differences that really matter, like biscuits versus muffins or spandex versus all that is holy.
