NICE!!!!  POW vids are always nice....

Way to get it!
Good beta for those of us recently returned from the great Canadian North  ;)
Thanks, Pete
Just some grizzeled impassioned 62 year old pinhead who's biding his time before he succumbs to the dreaded fixed heal :)
I can't see your pics either.

Took a look at the html and noticed your pics don't have a height designation... not sure if that's it, but you could try to modify your image links by taking out the width designation, like this:

img width=800  PASTEimageURLhere  /img

img  PASTEimageURLhere  /img

(I took out the brackets so the site wouldn't translate the above to html, but you'll want to leave...
Who is the freeheeler? Lookin good!
I could see the photos on my home computer (except the first one), but now at work no photos!
Not sure what the problem is, I could see the photos on my tablet, but now I can't see them on the desktop I put them on with?

Sounds like an exciting time! I can't see any of the photos though...

I'll try and sort out the problem, but I can see them?  Mike said that he could see all but the first one? sorry

Thanks, MGoodwin. A reliable and interpretable low-elevation snow report is pure gold.

Good luck and good decisions, hedonaut, whereever you're headed. We're not in the hunt on this unique weekend, but the hunting might be good.
Car is about 8-900'. I transitioned right about 1700-1800', though that was also effectively in the open. Big disparity between open and forested areas. Think you could count on good snow 2-2300'.

Was there snow on Wenas rd  ?

Just a little and with muddy stretches as you drove down to Umptanum Creek.  Mostly bare and dry to there.
Very cool , I ride that  road and ridge  on a dualsport mc in the summer and always wonder if there is enough snow to ski those beautiful ridges. Thanks for breaking out of the box and reporting,

This is likely the same avalanche that was mentioned in the avalanche forecast on February 19th, which most likely ran during the storm on the 15th/16th.
Thanks for the report!  Good idea to build a tree skiing inventory.

To what elevation could you reasonably ski, to your car at approx ______ feet?  Or was it the transition point you mentioned?
Here are a couple pictures from the 3-4000' range. Transition point at about 1800' had a lot of small "lodge pole" pines. Tight but negotiable.
Lol, I think I get it! Do I?
Thanks for the report!
Glad to see this!  Nice report!

You Should have fired off a lap on NEWS West Face while you were at it.  Probably the only time of year when you won't have a line on it.

Well done man!

Ha! Kendall's focused on a fast transition for maximum pow (as always). How's the snow around Bachelor?  You've been getting the goods lately, no?  Let's see some pics!

It's been a great winter, had to shovel the roof! I've been on the daddy dawn patrol schedule, my skiing hours are usually 5:30-8AM, so I agree fast transitions are k...
Nice!

I'll take this opportunity to help your mission.

Selling one 2006 skidoo. 800 XP summit, 156 track.. electric start. Reverse. Cheapish. I'll cut a deal if you mention this trip report. PM me for details.

Right Arm! Approximately how long was the sled to Rainy?

I think it was about 35 minutes to Rainy.  The slide aprons are in all the usual spots, but they're all pretty casual right now. Should be all time this weekend!

We went over to wright mountain across snow lake. Considerably better snow over there....strange. We also had lots of slow moving snow with each turn.....wet slough management?
That was the most tired I've been in a while doing not even close to a huge day. Extra weight with sticking snow and sandpaper skinning!

Powder!

Way to slay, brother!  Hopefully we link up later this week!
Silas, not sure where you went but looking into Crystal lakes zone from Boxcar cornice there were large natural slides on many aspects from East to north that didn't inspire confidence in the snowpack.
Sounds like a bonus day - you probably had zero expectations!
"Two of us wallowed to the summit." That is an understatement! Unconsolidated sugar snow on the north aspect made for some exasperating climbing often punching through the crust up to our hips. One more than one occasion I heard Mack cry out "I can't get any purchase." Well worth the effort though as we were rewarded with stellar views in all directions. You can see some of the evidence of the fire scars left from last summer's fire in Cox Valley.
yup guided by part-owner Pierre. He is the man!
Nice job getting out! Thanks for the report!

Any pix?

Sorry, no pix.  Saw this hill today, well lit, while skiing on the John Wayne trail west from Ellensburg. It's a great ski slope.  Love it when you only have to drive a few minutes to the goods.  We're having a great ski season here.
Real fun! Group of shredders there. Were you guided?
Great vid, followed it up with the Orcas mountain bike one. Nice afternoon diversion, keep up the fun!
Killer pics/ photo essay.
It's always good to see images on TAY
Fun vid man, thanks for sharing.  :D
That's awesome!  Always wanted to ski that ridge.  Any pix?
There perfect now, I was thinking it was probably on my end, nice that it is not.  Always love your pictures, thanks for fixing them.
The prospect of mid winter deep tree skiing was what drew us there. There is a crap ton of if to be had. All aspects, all steep. Unfortunately, the snowpack down low was lower than expected so we didn't get to experience the full potential of the trees, but what we did get to sample was amazing.
Eeek! I am sorry, I posted pics as usual but something must have changed. I reposted pictures in a smaller format. Please let me know if that still doesn't work. Thank you!
Radka, not sure what's up, but I can only see the first picture, and 1/4 of the next, of course it could be on my end, but I can see other pictures in other posts.  Anyone else having that problem?
Thanks for sharing - looks like some great terrain. And the temporary hut experience is  like old (ish) times - flashback to  the  '90s up in those  parts.

How extensive is the tree skiing terrain  (i.e. is there days worth of it to mine during a storm cycle?)?
