Replied by ron j on topic Stroke Update
The primary reason for this original post was to let the community know the real status regarding my malfunction.
In the past I have many times wondered the status of others fallen with some accident or illness.

I am a somewhat humbled by the high number of responds to the post.
Nonetheless, it was very kind of each and every one of you to take the time to respond. It means a lot to me. It just continues to show me what a top drawer community we have. My thanks to you all. I’m just glad I didn’t need to respond to each post by separate emails. I could have been months replying.

Anyway, a short line to bring you up to date…
This has been a real interesting process watching the brain relearning the words that came so easily before (well, sometimes came easily :) ). I now spend a lot of time working with words… learning to re-spell them and learning to re-pronounce them.
I find it all quite interesting and educational (no pun intended) but it has turned out to be pretty much a full time job, too.

I think it is paying off though; I seem to be able to speak a bit better each day (meaning less stammering and/or loss for words). But on the other hand it seems to be a very long way back to being able to create valuable professional documentation. I guess I’ll just take it one day at a time, and say how it goes.

You may have seen Robie’s TR last week were he and I skied up to the patch. So physically it looks like I’m pretty back into the weekend ski mode (pray for snow).
It just looks like I will be working less and schooling more for a while. Could be worse, huh? :)

Again, thank you all for your posts and support; I really appreciate it.

Right on Ron, indeed it could be a lot worse.

I was amazed to see you'd already gone out with Robie.

Take your time, you've got friends who know you, probably to the point of knowing what you'll say in many given situations.

I am curious, is the ronj laugh intact? That one is seared into my memory and makes me smile just thinking about it. I'd rather forget some of the awful jokes associated with it, but the laugh is golden.

Oh yes, the laugh is still there and Ron lost none of the 7 words you can't say on radio or TV .He can certainly make this old sailor blush.

Cookie, I may just my take you up on that one day...
And just so you know, I have still not forgotten your other invitation either, albeit it might now be a bit longer to perform on.
