Well buddy, there is good news and bad news concerning your recent medical adventure.  The good news is that you are still vertical and no one has thrown dirt on our casket or urn, said wonderful things about you that were full of exaggeration’s or planned and a commemorative ski tour to honor your existence.

The bad news is that we won’t have that great party to tell our favorite Ron story and drink numerous toasts to knowing you – without your being present.

On a personal note, I was looking forward to playing my sympathy card this season.  I’ve had two spinal surgeries and a heart ablation in a seven month period.  Plus, Jill had an ACL reconstruction of her left knee.  I figured that it would be easy to find trail breakers for us due to our medical restrictions this season.  But your recent stroke has captured the sympathies of our backcountry acquaintances and trumpeted our ailments.  My “plan B” is to share more backcountry tours with you as we join forces to convince our backcountry friends to break trail for us, carry extra weight from our packs and allow us to have first tracks on “safe powder terrain”.  No, we are not talking about being “powder poodles” on avy slopes.

Jill and I look forward to sharing some more adventures with you.  As an infamous person from the Red Green show says “we’re all in this together”.  ;)

As another recent medical procedure survivor, I hope to hear your gear jingling behind me on the skin track real soon. Or at least Wednesday nights at the Summit.

All this love should speed your recovery Ron.

We need your full strength to keep Scotsman in line! ;D

Ron, get better soon! I am looking forward to sharing snow margaritas with you this spring!
It is always a treat to see your smiling face even in the rain on Wednesday nights at the Pass.
Sending prayers your way my friend, be well.
