Shuks Zap, thanks. :-[
and likewise, your and Jill's adventures continue to motivate me. ;D

I got my new copy of Backcountry magazine last night.
Going through the magazine it was notable I think that EVERY ad was for fat skis.
There were ads for Atomic Bent Chetlers, K2 Coombacks, Voile Drifters and Chargers, Fischer Watea 101's etc.etc.
Bent Gate ad pull out had Dynafit with Stokes and Manaslus's and DPS skis, RP112, Lotus 138 .

Backcountry magazine of course will take ads for any ski and the cynics will say that it's all about marketing but the fact is that fat skis work, not just in pow and the resort but everywhere and the new lightweight constructions are making them suitable for traditional BC touring.

I really think the time has come for a Dynafit Splitboard Mono-ski.
That way you can have all the Phat you want with a little bit of wiggle.

And here you go... SplitMonoBoard

It's like training wheels for those boarders who want to ski.

It would be interesting if there was a way to put diagonal binding holes so that the Dynafit bindings could be also used as snowboard bindings. There must be some reason why this has not been done already. Maybe too long to put on a diagonal? Sure would solve the problem of splitboard stiffness. And walking around for miles in wet mukluks.

Scotsman is getting nervous! He can smell the chemicals brewing in my laboratory. It's time for another Franken-design.

Sam , I fear you may be trying to sow seeds in a barren field!
However, I want to demo the DPS 112RP's and also the DPS 138's.
Are you gonna have either of those.?

This is no barren field, just virgin prairie waiting to be plowed under.

I personally own a pair of 192cm lotus 138's that are mounted with dynadukes, so anyone that's roughly my BSL (322mm) can borrow them. For the record, touring on them with dynafits is awesome. If you want to borrow them at some point, send me a PM. I'd lend you my wailer 105's, but you already own a pair...

During the winter I'll be able to get a demo fleet shipped to me, and will likely try to setup a demo day up at baker at some point so that anyone who's interested can get on them. I won't however have a closet full of skis for people to grab whenever they want.

Marcus, I don't believe that any of the demo skis are mounted tele, but I'll look into it.

I love an optimist but I fear you underestimate the forces you face.
There are people on TAY who are still arguing over hobnails versus them new fangled vibram soles on mountaineering boots. There are people on TAY who feel that stepping foot on snow without gaiters leads to instant death.
That shorts can only be worn over polypro long johns.
That Gore-Tex is inferior to "oiled cotton"
That velcro is "devils work"
