This site is useless without pics.

Lee Lau posts his ski trips on almost every "outdoor" site on the internet, be it hiking, biking, skiing or climbing based sites. He leaves pics, maps, GPS, snow science, etc. for anyone to follow. I'm not sure exactly why or how he does this. My best guess is that he is trying to start a backcountry revolution of some sort, or he is extremely in need of ???. I hope it's the prior and I hope it works. At least the skin tracks will be in when you show up at your favourite tour.

Flippant answer: Of course I do this for the adulation of people I don't know.
Serious answer: It's a fun hobby, for me.

I post on TAY to brag sometimes, to share sometimes, to give information sometimes and to stir up the """" sometimes. We all have different reasons that change with every post .
I'm finished now.

One more thing and then I'll shut up but people who say they only post on TAY as some aultristic deed to give information to others, need to seriously examine their honestly.
I must have missed where someone said such a thing.

No actual quote Jim but implied I think by some, it's that PNW passive/aggresive thing , you have to read between the lines .
You're reading different lines than the ones I'm seeing. I don't see anyone martyring themselves for a trip report here.

Perhaps so. I try not to read between the lines (not always successful, but I try...). I've found that when I guess at someone's intentions from their actions alone (versus what they tell me) and then actually find out their intentions, I have a poor batting average on guessing. I've found this to be true with others' guesses as well. And this phenomenon just gets worse online (email, forums, etc.).
[couldn't resist editing to add:]The whole notion of the "PNW passive/aggressive" thing got me curious, and I took a quick look for a definition of "passive aggressive," which the handy online Encarta dictionary gave as:
avoiding direct confrontation: describes a personality type or way of behaving that seeks to manipulate others indirectly and resist their demands rather than confronting or opposing directly
I've certainly seen plenty of that around (not just in the PNW), including, ironically, in Scotsman's post which does not call out anyone specific as demonstrating a clear but unstated belief in their own unvarnished altruism.
