This site is useless without pics.

I think that this kind of tone is a great example of what is happening to the ski atmosphere. Complain, moan, swear, complain, complain more and make yourself look big. Shouldnt people just be happy we dont live in Kansas and have this great resource of a site. I agree that TGR is a place for dude. Most people on this site dont brag about "gnar". They brag about freshies and avy science. The main reason for me leaving the resorts is so I dont have to hear people complain about negligible stuff like this, which is constantly overheard in the liftlines and especially around the "gnar" halfpipe. In the BC you hear your skins squeek and the wind, birds and all the other joys of skiing, not this moaning garbage. Don't come here if you have nothing to contribute...havn't seen any TR's either. Jackson and Whistler are good places to mouth off and be macho, they have a lot of pictures too.

Welcome to the brave new world of self-broadcast, where you-tube and pic-post reigns supreme. You can hear the cry of "look-at-me" and "did-you-see-me" ringing through the hills in an ever growing, self indulgent trend towards self promotion, exhibitionism and attention whoredom. Has anyone else noticed the growing number of helmet cams in lift lines? Kodak courage has nothing on this...

The info on TAY is very useful. Sometimes it seems like the obsession with gleaning accurate info gets silly and removes some of the adventure from things, too.

Powdherb takes really killer pictures and I'm sure his parsing routine with them is quite thorough. It's just a different paradigm. Pure entertainment, rather than information aiming to be useful.
