This site is useless without pics.

Not to be an audacious prick-bag, but I mean come on...I don't really feel like reading anything. Just post a pic. That is all...

Useless? Really? I guess we're all after different things. Much of the best information that the TRs here offer is related to snow conditions, avy test results and other observations that don't translate well into pictures alone. I'd say fifty percent of the TRs, on average, have a few pictures in them, either initially or in subsequent posts. The picture limit is in place so that the site loads fast for folks with poor internet connections. I think it also makes folks separate the great pics from the mediocre. TGR and TTips have a glut of photo-laden reports (and they're great, don't get me wrong). When I take the time to read some of the reports we get here (Jason H's come to mind, among others), I get a much better feel for the whole experience.

That's me though -- I like pictures too, but there are other sites that provide that, while TAY gives everything else. Feel free to post your own TRs with the best pics from your trips -- they'll be appreciated, I'm sure.

Clearly you have not been lurking long enough to realize the tone around here.  As Marcus stated above the  true value of most TR's w/ pics or not is informative.  Often folks submissions are also entertaining, TAY has acquired some great characters over the years!

If you are looking for pure entertainment value, this sites likely not for you!  However, if you want to read up on local conditions, make a decision, go there, climb a while and then be entertained...that's fine as well!

People make ski movies for folks like you...Most of us here are looking to make ski memories.

My opinion: The often terse conditions reports are half of the jewels of this site. The carefully selected photo-driven TRs are much of the other half.
